Not only did CofC win, they took down VaTech, last years CAA champion. Top of the CAA is going to be tough this year.

RE: CAA Watch
CofC in a tight game with Kent State. They keep five guys on the court who can all score. UNCW is going to have to do the same if we want to beat them.

And wow, Stony Brook is AWFUL. Down 32-10 against FIU with 4:21 left in the first half.

Charleston just stole that one against formerly undefeated Kent State
Kudos to the Cougars for not giving up

RE: CAA Watch
The CAA is incredibly top heavy after the 1st couple weeks

Per Elo rankings we have 4 good teams
Charleston (34)
Towson (55)
Hoftsra (61)
UNCW (64)

After that man is the drop-off steep to the middle
Delaware (155)
Drexel (229)

And then playing the bottom is going to be a ranking crusher
Monmouth (285)
Northeastern (300)
William and Mary (307)
Stony Brook (314)
NC A&T (328)
Elon (329)
Hampton (345)

Not necessarily, it's not like anyone is getting an at large invite.

RE: CAA Watch
It's going to be one of those things where Charleston or maybe Towson runs the table and then falls in the championship game.

UNCW doesn't have a name OOC win but 3 double digit losses to P5 schools. Hofstra got blown out by St. Mary's and Towson has a real bad loss to Fairfield

If Charleston can win out their OOC and then go through the CAA losing only on the road to us or Towson I could see them POSSIBLY getting a bid.

The knock against them on top of the bottom of the CAA being awful is that all their big OOC wins will be at home. Not fair standard but I could see that being an argument against them

Highly unlikely. As Solo pointed out there would need to be almost a perfect scenario for it to happen.

If Charleston enters the conference tournament with 1 conference loss and only a loss to UNC, they're in without an automatic bid. I don't know the likelihood of that happening, but it is possible.

I sincerely hope you’re right, but I just don’t see at large bids out of the CAA anytime soon.

CofC has made it through the toughest part of their OOC schedule and should win out before hitting conference play. They finish with ODU, Citadel, Presbytarian, N. Greenville and Coastal Carolina.

Conference play

Home and home - Hampton, Towson, Elon, UNCW, Northeastern, Delaware

Home - W&M, Stony Brook, Hofstra
Away - A&T, Monmouth, Drexel

UNCW and Towson will be their toughest outs, but having Hofstra at home is a big plus. Their away games are cupcakes.

They have a real chance to come out of CAA play with 2-3 loses against decent rated teams and sweeping everyone else. If they win out their OOC games they should be ranked in the Top 25, and losses to UNCW, Towson or Hofstra won't really hurt them.

I don’t see them in the t25 even if they win out OOC play.

They have the third highest number of votes outside the top 25 right now, which would make them #28. Wouldn't take but a few losses of those in the top 25 and countinued winning by CofC to get there. If they win the rest of their OOC games i'd bet they easily are ranked in the top 25 going into conference play.

Does anyone have a link to this season's tournament bracket setup? (Surprise alert: Couldn't find in on the CAA website).

In the current 13 team setup, do the top 4 seeds advance automatically to the quarterfinals?

I would assume it's a typical 12 team bracket Saturday through Tuesday with a 12-13 playin game on Friday

RE: CAA Watch
Dominating record wise and a top heavy conference is the right recipe for a potential at large. The bottom teams we added are so bad this year (as expected) that there could certainly be some gaudy records. Its all about avoiding that "bad" loss. Its not completely unreasonable to think CofC has a real shot. however as Osprey stated, unlikely a team doesnt have at least 3 losses in conference heading into the CAAT
