SBC Signs backup agreement with Independence Bowl
https://sunbeltsports.org/news/2022/11/3...ement.aspx

Army is the primary tie in, and they are 3-4 at present with 2 of those wins against FCS teams. They'd need to beat 4 out of Troy, UMass, Air Force, UConn, and Navy to get eligible. If they don't we get that spot.

RE: SBC Signs backup agreement with Independence Bowl
Is this the 6th TBA bowl game that everyone was alluding to for the SBC...or is this bowl in addition to the 6th TBA bowl for the SBC in the event Army doesn't reach bowl eligibility?

I see it is against the AAC...I thought it was a P5 bowl, oh well.

SEC and Big 12 left with the new contracts.

Not at all surprised our “super secret” new bowl partner would be the Indy Bowl; what is surprising is it’s a back up partnership

The Rock is a good looking stadium. Loved when y'all finished the end zone seating.

I'm not surprised. Army and the other academies get major eyeballs.

Yeah, expanding the south endzone and adding suites was definitely sweet.

I dont think this is the new tie-in. We are only a backup, not the primary conference. Would love to get a tie in with the Bham Bowl against an SEC team.

RE: SBC Signs backup agreement with Independence Bowl
Was this backup agreement previously associated with CUSA?

Maybe confused, but thought the rumor was that SBC was getting at least one bowl affiliation from CUSA given the number of teams they lost.
