We moving the USM Campus to Montgomery?

LOL

We didn’t win CUSA last year on our own field. Maybe slow that roll a bit. The SBC West is better than CUSA as a whole.

You aint seen anything till you come to Jonesboro on a windy day in the Spring, and every bomb you hit gets blown dead by the wind 10 feet short of the wall, while at the same time there's no beer anywhere to be had and no available restrooms because the sewage system backed up the week before and no one bothered to fix it.

What about your flooded field? Come on, tell ‘em ‘bout your flooded field. Y’all are like the King’s of The Rain Out.

Oh yeah, our field is built in a valley with a bunch of hills that slope down into it. There's no drainage system to speak of, so when it rains, that water stays on the field until evaporation takes its course. That means games are often played with standing water in the outfield, or we get a "cloudless rain out" and end up playing a Doubleheader later in the weekend.

Also, we don't have a grounds crew or anything, players have to do their own field prep pregame, sometimes we request volunteers from the stands to help out. There are stories deep in AState lore of fans who got selected to help tarp the field in a sudden thunderstorm.

New stadium you ask? We've priced it out plus building softball facilities for that inevitable start up, the cost is roughly 5 million. We are currently searching far and wide for donors willing to foot the bill, but because our previous AD threw everything we ever got into football, we don't really have people willing to donate for basketball or baseball.

We need turf, its been promised every year since 2014, but hasn't happened. There was one time though that we painted the dugouts red in the offseason and called it "stadium improvements" prompting a former coach to text me and ask if facilities management had known Mohajir had gotten into their paint supply again.

RE: 2023 Baseball Schedules
Cajuns in league play miss the Georgia schools and ODU, which is a bummer.

Travel to JMU and Marshall, host Coastal and App.

In the division we have to go to both Mobile and Hattiesburg, along with ULM.

Texas State, Arkansas State and Troy come to Russo Park.

OOC we open at Rice, have BYU in a four game (wed-sat) series, host a very good Campbell squad and also play High Point.

Two with La. Tech, SELA and McNeese. Home vs. Tulane, road vs. LSU and a game in Biloxi vs. Mississippi State.

We play 33 home games, including three midweeks from the SWAC.

Until we got turf in 2020 and added our magic drainage (otherwise known as completely replacing the largely collapsed and clogged drainage originally installed in 1984 when the park was built) we had "phantom" rainouts and terrible drainage problems. The NCAA told us after a rain-soaked 2017 regional that we had to rework the field to host a regional again. When they dug up the original natural turf, they found some baseballs embedded in the ground which had hit and sunk at soggy practices over the years.

I hope you guys get your facility needs taken care of and get baseball going strong.

TAMU-CC could give them a run for their money. They use Whataburger Field, at times, but mainly their on campus field. Been there. Seen it. Little League fields are better. Chapman Field. If you look it up, the pictures make it look better than it is up close.
TAMUCC & UTSA could be in a contest for really, really bad.

Add Marshall to the mix until their new stadium is built. Currently plays at a local YMCA that doesn't have lights.

The visiting press box surely wins that prize.

UTSA seems to at least have a Press Box. At FIU, the visiting radio crew gets put under a tarp.

Did you just assume our RPI? We fired the coach. The players will see their stadium being built. Hopefully that translates to more wins.
