Call me a skeptical, bit I'm just not sure he can. He plays a certain way and that's hard to reign in at this point in his career.Sometimes you just have to take the bad with the good. Also not sure JT is quite ready after only averaging 7mpg or so last season. I do believe he will grow as the season progresses, bit will take some lumps along the offensive journey.

Agree. I think a Shykeim that holds back and plays less physical is actually disadvantageous for his overall style. A big game like this, of course, it will be exacerbated. Thankfully, Thomas is a capable backup. With an experienced team like this UNC squad though could cause Thomas trouble also though if he plays at his break neck speed. Looking for a competitive game here, and anything better is a great bonus.

First time out. Hawks are 3-4 from the field and haven't take a three pointer. I LIKE IT. Lead the Heels 8-5 and don't look scared at all. J Thomas comes in and picks up a foul immediately.

Refs with some home cooking. Bacot bumbles the ball, Phillips gets to it and is called for his second foul. BS

Siddle finally calls a TO as the Hawks' go down 11. Should have called it when we went down 6 and weren't scoring.

Some of the worst home cooking I've ever witnessed in person. I mean I expected it but it's even worse than that.
Oh, and Unc fans in the lower lever are EXACTLY as I've stereotyped them for 20 + years. Couldn't be more spot on

Hawks' looked really smooth to start the game. Made baskets allowed us to press, slow down the game and keep it close. The 3-14 stretch allowed the lead to 11.

Carolina not shooting much better than we are with the difference being at the FT line whre the Heels are 12-14 and the Hawks' are 2-4.

FT discrepancy is the difference in the score with the Heels being able to get to the line and convert.

Overall a solid B+ performance against the #1 team for most of that half

You can't take the shot clock under 5 seconds every trip and expect good results especially against a team of giants. The weave at the top of the key accomplishes very little except running clock
