Down 9-6 nearing the first media TO. Getting out-rebounded 4-2 at the moment, but we know we have some size on the bench to turn to when needed.

Harvey @ McGriff the first 2 to enter off the bench.

Harvey quickly ties it up with a 3 just before the media TO.

Van Der Heijden is the 3rd to come off the bench.

We're 6-6 from the line so far, 4 of those coming from Harden-Hayes.

Jamarii Thomas in as well. So if you're looking for an initial 9-man rotation that's a solid one.

Interesting to see Trazerian shifting over to the 3 with Van Der Heiden on the floor. Could be a solid lineup to turn to when we need size.

Trazerian hits a 3 to justify that spot as well.

Victor Enoh and Noah Ross just entered the game. Meaning 11 players have already seen the floor for the Seahawks in less than 9 minutes.

Coach Siddle is certainly using tonight as an opportunity to see what he has in all the new faces.

The bad so far:

* 2-9 from 3
* Getting outrebounded 13-10
* 3 turnovers in the last 4 minutes
* 7 fouls committed (2 of them by Phillips, which is limiting his minutes)

The good:

* 6-7 from the line
* 6 turnovers forced
* Getting open looks

Phillips, Harvey, Kelly and McGriff already with 2 fouls apiece now.

Only 4 team assists at the under 8:00 timeout. A lot of of that is obviously not getting shots to fall (35 % from the field, 27.3 % from 3) but it's also a bit of a familiar flaw from last season.

Again, lot's of new faces and a lot of guys seeing the court tonight impacts that but hopefully we see better ball movement and, of course, hitting open looks the remainder of the contest.

We've managed to flip the rebounding advantage. Up 19-15 in the category now.

Quick 14-0 run for the Hawks puts up up 35-21. We didn't allow any points to E&H in that media TO. That's great to see!

White (stud) and Harvey (microwave) each have made a pair of 3's.

On the down side of things: The rest of the team is 0-7 from the perimeter.

Hawks are on a 22-2 run over the last 6:03!

Surprising as this is a scrimmage yes, but until Nick figures out how to play on the defensive end of the court his minutes will be sparse. He is instant offense but not enough to negate his defensive liabilities.

As you say, its ultimately a scrimmage so I still would have expected to see him get maybe a few token minutes. But if he's a healthy scratch as a "learning experience" kind of deal then that's the coach's prerogative and is understandable.

At least we know who Coach Siddle's intial "top 11" are right now, of which I would expect to see at least 9 see the floor against Chapel Hill: Shy, White, Harden-Hayes, Newby, Kelly, Thomas, Harvey, McGriff, Van Der Heijden.

Hard to believe this was a 21-21 game with 7:31 left in the 1st half.
