3 keys I'm looking for in tomorrow's game....
1. We must bring pressure to their QB, Irons. He is really good and passes a ton. Neathery has had extra days to prepare. If Irons goes crazy on account of our scheme, I really hope CC has the courage to do what is necessary.
2. Do we have our guys back healthy. Will Cline, Howie, Drummond, Evans be ready to go? We need them.
3. If Austin gets the majority of reps at qb, he has to make quality throws. I like him, but he needs to show he is making progress.
Sounding like a broken record we have no one who has 'credentials' to ask the questions about injuries, etc.
Ditto with MBB. Did anyone know Emoni was going to sit tonight?
As I posted under MBB, "Nature abhors a vacuum." People want to know why no Emoni. Or are the players you mentioned heathly?
In the absence of information, people just tend to speculate.

Good points. The EMU team needs to bring it all in this game.
I'd like to see Hass have a big game. 10 catches for 100+ yards.

I have a feeling Evans will have a good game with some solid blocking in front of him.

RE: Game Week: @Akron
I think it's in all of our nature to be skeptical when it comes to EMU football, but this should be a good matchup for us and game we win. It seems like we really struggle with teams who can just run it right at us and control the game...that isn't Akron. They only average 73 rushing yards a game. Their QB is their leading rusher, but even he only has 282 yards, and as a team they average 2.4 yards per carry. In other words, that kind of plays right into our base defense. The QB completes 67% of his passes sure, but with less than seven yards per completion. They aren't explosive, they may score around 20 points but that should not beat us.
This is a game Evans should really take over. Especially if Howie is back (and even if he isn't) we should be able to control the line of scrimmage and control the game. For instance, CMU didn't have Lew Nichols and still rushed for 199 yards against them. Then when the time is right hit some big plays to Drummond/Knue/Beydoun.

Almost game time. Here's hoping the defense shows strong tonight and that we see a steady and effective dose of Samson and Hass.

Agreed. I'm hoping we let Samson run of all over them.

Nice to see Austin get the start.
Do they put the cameras on the light towers at Akron? Nothing like looking straight down at the field.

What a horrible penalty! C'mon special teams...you can't cover the long snapper like that.

Loved seeing all the pressure we brought that drive. Got to come up with more of those sacks

Austin Smith is now 100% the starter. He's playing great. No need to get a transfer for next year.

Agreed. That last drive was phenomenal. He did most of his damage from the pocket, which is what we all wanted to see.

Game over 31-14! Not surprising though! 6-4 and 3-3 where it matters! Let's finish 8-4, and 5-3!
