We absolutely should beat Akron period! We've A coach in his NINTH season with a lot of returning upperclassmen playing against arguably the worst team in D1, who hasn't beaten A D1 school this season! Also A 1st year coach In a total rebuild! CC, simply has to win this football game!

I 100% agree. Others are correct, I think Akron is a bit better than the last few years and they've been competitive in games. However, they give up a ton of yards, and they can't run the ball. That isn't typically a mix we struggle with, like Kent State for instance is only 3-5 but run the ball well, I think we'll struggle with them.

This is a LONG shot (mostly with our ability to win three games in a row), but what if there is a three way tie?

If Finn is out for a while (I don't know the latest with him) I suppose it's not too crazy to lets say Toledo loses to Ball State and splits with BG and WMU, they finish 5-3. Ball State beats Toledo and then splits with Ohio and Miami, they are 5-3. If we were to win out we'd be 5-3. (I guess in theory WMU could get in this action too and end up 5-3, but I assume they lose to Toledo, NIU or CMU along the way).

In that scenario Toledo/Ball State/EMU would all be 5-3 and all have beating each other. Does anyone know the tie breaker?

Believe Toledo would take it in that scenario. Only chance EMU has of making it is if Toledo loses out, EMU wins out, and Ball State loses at least 1.

If we can contain Irons and not let him get comfortable, we will be fine. He is a good QB and is averaging 40 throwing attempts pee game thru 9 games.

Chatter seems quiet for this game. Is everyone just quietly puzzled about this team like I am? They have the potential to be really good and the same likelihood we come out flat with an even flatter game plan.

3 keys I'm looking for in tomorrow's game....
1. We must bring pressure to their QB, Irons. He is really good and passes a ton. Neathery has had extra days to prepare. If Irons goes crazy on account of our scheme, I really hope CC has the courage to do what is necessary.

2. Do we have our guys back healthy. Will Cline, Howie, Drummond, Evans be ready to go? We need them.

3. If Austin gets the majority of reps at qb, he has to make quality throws. I like him, but he needs to show he is making progress.
