doesn't sound like that at all. Don't think ESPN is getting many more games and don't think Fox is getting many less games.

and don't think Fox is getting many more Big Ten games at all.

So, is this enough to make the Arizona’s want to come over?

Good for the Big 12 and it's current and future members. Very excited for the league as a basketball entity moving forward.

Will be fascinating to see what, if any, effect this has on the PAC new deal.

I'm very pleased for the University of Cincinnati and for the City of Cincinnati. Great to hear.

Won't know that until the PAC finishes negotiations on their own TV deal. IMO there will probably not be a appreciable difference in the contracts. If we're not talking about at least a 10 million dollar difference between the two conferences, the 4c will stay where they're at.

might depend on where the Pac 12 networks are. If it's a lot of Amazon or streaming- I could see it being a factor.

Will be interesting to see how much basketball Fox gets from Big 12.

Another "next question" is: do early exit discussion for OU/UT begin in earnest now? I suspect the new contract presumes they stay, but it may put a $$ value on an early departure. I also suspect that $$ value is still larger than OU/UT are willing to pay.

I would have to imagine that BYU, Cincinnati, Houston, and UCF feel like they won the lottery.

He’s right to an extent. I frankly am flabbergasted that some people seriously act like UCLA is as valuable as Texas and OU. And even USC isn’t as valuable as Texas and OU if you look at tv ratings.

But it is pretty obvious that a Big 12 that still included Texas and OU would have made more money than a PAC that still included USC and UCLA. So, even though the Big 12 is losing more from their defections, it’s from a higher starting point.

Kudos to the Big 12. This deal puts them in solid contention to be conference #3 and should help solidify any members from leaving for the ACC or PAC.

I feel like this really puts the PAC in a box. The article mentioned how the Pac wanted to create a bidding war. But I believe this takes Fox off the table for the PAC as they have plenty with Big 10, Big East, Big 12 and MWC.

Pac is really going to need Amazon or Apple to step up or they will be left only with ESPN as the interested suitor.

But also Big 12 was able to add 4 pretty solid programs to help mitigate things. Depth helped here to get Fox in there.

Big East will be going up for bidding soon too.

Pac 12 will be interesting for sure. I think there's a package that Fox could want. Late night games are enticing for FS1 for sure.

$31.67 million is the upper bound per team if the conference gets no cut, $29.23 million is if the conference gets an equal share (12 way split vs. 13 way).

So yeah, right at $30 million and not at all different than what rational people were expecting.
So you “rational people” were expecting the conference payouts to INCREASE after Texas and OU leave? I don’t think so.

Well, we have a record of who guessed what. (Not sure if the poll is still open, but scout's honor not to vote now that you know the answer)

Poll: What is going to be the Big 12 per school average

And the $31 2/3 number is pretty close to the most common guess, $30M, and to the second-most-common guess, $35M

It's closed. I honestly don't remember picking "less than $25m/yr". My best guess is that I was assuming the next deal was going to be signed after the Pac got their share.

I bet they extend the Big East before it goes out of exclusive negotiations.

Having the Big 10, Big 12, and MWC I just don't the need Fox would have for PAC games

They already have MWC for late night

With ESPN not in on the B1G, this could also mean more exposure for the b12.

A big win to get a raise without OUT.
