According to Texas State's website, he is their new headcoach. I completely missed that announcement.

Colorado School of Mines.

That's an interesting name.

I wonder what their mascot is? The fighting coal ? Canaries?

Colors? Black?

Do their helmets have a light on the front???

Do their opponents yell "CAVE IN THE MINES!!!!" ???

I crack myself up.

A friend went there. play in Mary Kay Stadium. Colors silver and blue. Nickname is Ore Diggers. Mascot is a Burro. Highest rated school of mineral and mining in the world. I do not think the high rating is based on the location. Rocky Mountain High.

I think they should give my "fighting coal" suggestion serious consideration.

One of my good friends played football there. They are really strong across most engineering disciplines.

The Army-Navy game has the best pre-game anywhere. This year's game was incredible!

I live in San Antonio and literally pass by UIW's campus every day on my way to work (and my son goes to school down the road from there). They are one win away from playing for an FCS national championship and you would barely know it with as little attention as they get here.

For a college football die hard like myself that is crazy, but it's also a good illustration of why so many FCS schools try to move up to FBS. You just get more visibility at that level.
