We made a terrible decision to dive at a 25 yard, linedrive punt that wasnt remotely catchable. Thats bad on us, and a break for EMU. We fumbled inside our own 10. Thats a zero first down TD for you. Thats a break.

We made an unbelievable 4th and 10 catch, and a diving INT to seal it while outgaining you by over 100 yards. That game should have been a 10+ pt victory and thats not even counting all of the penalties we had. Of which we came into that game leading the conference in fewest penalties in the MAC.

Toledo played very poor. Ill take the win, but Creighton needs to capitalize on us trying to give you the game. Toledo was 0-7 in its last one score games since 2020. Thats the immovable object vs. the resistable force or whatever the saying is.

Probably the only time I will agree with Ken. Citing EMU’s history doesn’t mean much considering Creighton has gotten them to be an average MAC team. If he can’t elevate them further, then he should be fired. At my job, I don’t get to just “keep the ship afloat,” I have goals to meet and exceed. Yes he has some nice P5 wins, but his ceiling is 7 wins. He has 1 winning MAC season in 9 tries, 0-4 in bowl games, and is EMU is the only MAC team to not make the MACCG during his tenure.

I would rather try something new than be a 6-6 team every year with nothing to show for it. I’m not an EMU fan but I don’t know why their fans would accept this every year.

You need to re-think your breaks. I gave you the interceptions to balance the fumbles. Penalties? I would have to go back and check, but we had many penalties as well.
Breaks are part of any game. If, your team fumbles the ball and the opposing team recovers, yes, that is a break, but your player fumbled the ball. Blame him for better ball security.

An interception when its a diving amazing play... you give the team their do. I give Buffalo credit for 2 of em vs. UT. Not the hail marys to end halves, or the blatant pass right to their LB. Thats on us.

I do blame our ball security. I also give credit to the forced fumble. But our defense didnt have much of a chance to keep you out of the endzone. Short fields are breaks. Without those breaks, its a game of total yards, penalties, turnovers and injury luck. You almost won because of apt opportunities despite getting way outgained. Creighton should have won that game. Us inflicting more wounds than usual is on us as well. You lost to a team who hasn't won close games. (Buffalo and SDSU in 2022. EMU, NIU, CMU, and MTSU in 2021. BSU and WMU in 2020.

Maybe its a turning point for Toledo. But if you want to win the MAC you need these wins as a program for EMU. I for one wouldnt trade Creighton for Candle. Because recruiting 5th (what EMU is doing for 2023) isnt going to get it done.

I am a believer in this UT team relative to competition. I also believe we will win the two worst seasons in the past 30 years of MAC FB. 2007 MAC was the next worst year. 2014 next. But a Championship is a Championship. If we fail, then heads should roll. Creighton did well to bring you from the depths, and their may not be many coaches I like more in the MAC. But i kind of like none.

Agreed, pony up for a streaming service to then watch games go on other channels. NFL really took it to another level with needing Prime on Thursdays.

You aren't missing much. I just turned on ESPNU to hear them talking about Georgia/Tennessee and rest of SEC during the BSU-KSU halftime.

Horrendous first half for UB. Looks like last years defense. Always a rough time for the Bulls in Athens. We’ll see if they can even make this respectable in the 2nd half.

First blood to CMU! NIU got greedy on 4th down, and we made them pay. 7-0 Chips.

21-0 Chips as our offense is looking better than it has in weeks, and the defense is simply having fun out there.

CMU up 28 - 15 early in the 4th.

BG up 13 - 6 over WMU early in the 4th.

CMU just fumbled and NIU returned for a TD. Unreal.

NIU played a 4th string freshman walk-on QB for all but the first drive of the game. Apparently only 6 teams in all of FBS have started three different QBs. Looks like we start our 4th different QB next week.

At least there's only three games left before this terrible season is over...

Pretty stunning that CMU,WMU and NIU are having horrible seasons. I was not expecting that scenario.
