Cool Utah Valley announces $20 million soccer stadium
https://www.abc4.com/sports/utah-valley-...c-stadium/

The capacity will be 3,000 and have lots of features. (see article)

Part of me wonders if this would be too small (seat wise) for a possible FCS football team. UVU at one point in time was thinking about a football squad when they were not in an auto-qualifier conference. But once they joined the WAC they didn't want to spend the money and focused on soccer.

Then they wondered why Dixie State/Utah Tech got more news mentions then they did.

Mentions? Where?

In a state with a Pac-12 championship and a school with the largest stadium in the state, FIVE MILES AWAY, a theoretical football program at UVU isn’t going to get the “mentions” anyway.

Plus there’s this rather sweet campus for Real Salt Lake a few miles up the freeway and to the west. That academy can’t send everyone to RSL.

Though I’d argue some simplicity is in order. Don’t build for $20 million when you can get permanent seats and a roof and probably be fine at half the cost. I’ve seen USL2 parks that do well with scattered bleachers, a beer booth, and a taco stand.

Mind you, this makes me wonder if UVU would like to partner with a prospective USL1 team. Or the Utah Warriors.
