If we sign with ESPN they determine how many games and which ones are shown on television. I'm not a fan of selling our souls to ESPN when they will still place us behind the major conferences and even the G5.

I also noticed the NC schools do not have a linear broadcast deal, that needs to change ASAP.

I agree. I don't love FLO because I think it's a pretty crappy platform that's overpriced, doesn't advertise, and has a very small subscription base. However, I've always said that linear TV is important. I brought up the Drexel games on NBCSP because it's important that a lot of Drexel games get broadcast on the major local sports channels that people in the region use as their go to channel for sports. Despite, Drexel being considered the #6 school in Philadelphia, they do get more games on TV than St. Joes, La Salle, and Penn do.

In terms of linear deals for other schools in the CAA, I think that UNCW used to broadcast games on local TV in Wilmington. I could be wrong but I think that prior to realignment, Elon was the only school in the CAA that didn't put their games on linear TV. Of the new schools, Monmouth is televising games. Not sure about A&T or Hampton.

UNCW never did. They should. They have the ability and a radio partner with an independent TV station. But they don't

You're thinking of Charleston

We do not have linear tv deals, hopefully we will next year.

RE: Renewing with Flo
I just re-subscribed for the season. It was a pain in the ass to do. I logged into my account and clicked on "reactivate subscription" but it was only giving me the $29.99 monthly option or the $150 annual option. I had to go into the CAA Website, click on the Flo Sports icon, and THEN I was able to get the $12.50/month option which I will cancel once basketball season ends. What really sucks though is that based on timing, I might have to subscribe for a 5th month in order to watch the CAA WBB championships, since today is the 10th and the tournament runs from the 10th to the 12th in March. Flohoops will find a way to F you over one way or another.

Easy fix JB

Looking at Drexel's M & W schedules you just gotta cancel by Dec 9th ( end of month 1) and resubscribe on Dec 17 for the Drexel Delaware St game.

You shouldn't miss any game since both teams don't have any home games the week or your Flo lapse

Thank you....that's great advice. I'm going to cancel my Flo subscription now, so it won't auto renew on 12/9. You saved me $12.50+tax. I will probably go to the Del State game, so I may not need Flo again until January.

Hofstra did not have any games on a regional sports network last season.

I still find that so odd considering back in the 90's, Hofstra was one of the few mid-major schools to have their own TV deal. I still have some VCR tapes of Drexel/Hofstra games on SportsChannel NY that were simulcast on SportsChannel Philadelphia. SportsChannel even produced and televised some Hofstra road games. So it's crazy that 20+ years later, they decide that television reach is less important than it once was. I guess it's also a lot more expensive to buy air time on NY RSN's nowadays.

RE: Renewing with Flo
Back when SportsChannel NY existed, there were two regional sports network for New York, and now they are four. I do not remember that far back, but I remember when Hofstra had games on MSG with announcers working for MSG, not as part of a chain of networks. As top conferences make TV channels and have less popular sports televised, it is hard to have a bigger decline in televised games than the CAA had. https://gohofstra.com/sports/mens-basket...le/2005-06 is Hofstra's schedule from 2005-2006 when they got snubbed. They had six games on regional sports networks, and their only games on national TV were the CAA Final, NIT Second Round, and NIT Third Round loss hosting Old Dominion.
