Yep. Ya gotta have really big stones to be a curler. There’s a club sheet between Pburg and BG on 25. Seems active- I’m guessing they play/slide/ sweep there.

I didn't know channel 9 used to be CKLW. It's currently CBET. CKLW was and still is 800 on the AM dial. I used to love listening to it when my Mom took me downtown to shop at Tiedke's (C-K-L-W The Motor City) CKWW is now using the old jingle.

How could you not love listing to CKLW. Remember Byron McGregor doing the news? Classics.

Of course Dick Purton was a classic on CKLW. Perfect voice for radio and a keen sense of humor. Trying to remember his sidekick and drawing a blank. himself. Still alive at 86 and retired in 2010 at 74. Has six daughters - JoAnne, Jackie, Jill, Julie, Jessica, and Jennifer. Wife Gail died 4 years ago after 60 years of marriage.
