I think so. Playing against the CoC women's team wouldn't be that big of a test.

Tribe leading First Place Drexel by 16 at halftime. Casey had 16 or 17 in the first quarter (but none in the 2Q) and Wagner got about a dozen in the 2Q. It’s a far cry from the previous game (against Towson) where the Tribe couldn’t sink a shot in the ocean.

Tribe win it 74-58 which was the same 16 point margin as at halftime. Drexel cut the lead to 6 but the Tribe countered and pulled away.

This game could be just as important to the women’s program and our new coach as the UNCW win might do for the men.

Sydney Wagner got 19 and Riley Casey got 31…for the 4th time this year (and I believe she had a 31 last year too).

Great win!!

Got to watch the 4th quarter of this one yesterday and I'm glad I did! Great win for the program! Congrats to Coach E!

Nice win. You guys absolutely controlled the game from the start. Not sure why that trip always gives us fits.

RE: 22-23 Women's Basketball Season.
Tribe win at home against Hampton, 69-54. Riley Casey had only 7 and Sydney Wagner had only 10 but the slack was picked up by the rest of the starting five. Rebekah Frisby-Smith had 12 points, 9 rebounds, and 3 steals. Bre Bellamy had 15 points, 8 rebounds, and 2 steals. Alex Mikeska (a freshman) had a career high 16 points, 6 rebounds, and 4 assists. It is great, and definitely the right time of year, for other players to pick up the scoring load.

I watched the MBB game live and the WBB game immediately afterward on replay. The women’s game was just oh so much more enjoyable — and not just because they won. It was better because there was more team play, better offensive schemes, and more enjoyment visible on the court. Fischer should take his whole team to watch a couple of the women’s games.

Coach E shows us in many ways the weaknesses of the MBB staff. Sadly expect Dane for year 5 as the financial consequences of firing him prevent any other alternative.

Swap E and D.

That might work out okay for the men’s team but I object to handicapping the women’s team that way.

Nice win in OT against Charleston, 80-74. Tribe had 9 point lead at the half but CofC took the lead in the 3Q. Tribe went on 11-2 run to tie it at the end of regulation and then dominated in OT. First CAA road win of the year and an excellent tiebreaker for CAAT seeding.

Nice win today, 62-48, over UNCW. All the reserves got to play at least 3-4 minutes. Freshman Alexa Mikeska finished one basket short of a double-double; she’s gonna be a great player. Riley Casey scored only 3 points but the rest of the team more than picked up the slack. That’s 4 straight wins!

We've already matched last year's overall and conference win total.

From everything I see and hear, E has instilled a lot of fun and team harmony into the mix. She's getting a lot for what she has on the roster, especially considering injuries. Horizon looks very bright.

And, I've mentioned before, the talent level of this incoming class IMO is a tier above what we've recruited in the past. All will play and a couple should start at some point next season.

Coach E has us on the visitors bench. Have we been doing that all season? If so I just noticed.

Yes, and it has been that way in previous years, too.

Tribe lose to Delaware 74-72 in a close fought game that went down to the buzzer. Sydney Wagner scored a career high 33 (3rd most all time) and went 13-13 from the free throw line (the rest of the team was 4-7). Unfortunately the Tribe missed 3 chances to tie at the end.

What really cost the Tribe this win was missing AT LEAST 10 layups. Practically everyone (including Wagner) missed at least 1; Bre Bellamy missed at least 3 and Riley Casey missed one leading up to the final scrum (for some reason Wagner didn’t touch the ball in the last 20 seconds). Doing layup drills would be good for this coming week.

Also noticed that every trace of contact, no matter how minimal or nonexistent, under the Delaware basket led to a foul call and-one….which was nowhere near true under the Tribe basket.

I think it puts the teams closer to their respective locker rooms.

In the past, they have had to cross paths on the way to the locker rooms.

Trina Thomas used to use that end back when she was here.
