RE: BC
NU got a shootout win over BC Friday night at Matthews.

NU was down 4-1 and being badly outplayed by a BC team who had lost 3 straight. But the Huskies rallied as Jakob Novak scored to cut it to 4-2. Then freshman Cam Lund, who scored the first goal of the game, scored two goals in the final three minutes of the game to tie it at 4 and send it to OT.

After neither team scored in OT. The first two rounds of the shootout for both teams was unsuccessful, but then Lund buried the puck for the shootout win.

Devon Levi made 36 saves, including saves on all 3 shootouts attempts.

The same two teams will meet in Chestnut Hill for the first time this year tonight for the series finale. Puck drop is slated for 7 p.m. and can be streamed on ESPN+.

RE: BC
Just watched it. What a game! I got discouraged in the third period so I fast forwarded to when we pulled our goalie. What a heartbreakers for BC.

So, BC had the game won with seven seconds left......but the BC player with the puck said to himself, "I don't want to win it 4-3. I want to win it 5-3." He shoots and misses the empty net for an icing call and the puck comes.back into the BC zone where we score and eventually get the OT win!

Yeah I too didn’t understand why he tried for the empty netter. Pretty sure he thought about that all night.

#20 NU hosted BC in a rare mid-week conference game and they came away with the 2-1 win.

NU has won 5 straight and are just one point behind BU for first place in Hockey East.

Matt Choupani got NU to the early 1-0 lead. BC tied it in the 2nd period and Jakov Novak scored the go-ahead goal early in the 3rd period as they held on for the win.

Devon Levi finished the night with 29 saves for his 13th win of the season.

The Huskies host #14 UConn on Friday before the Beanpot opener vs. BU on Monday night.
