Interesting day. Texas goes up to Dallas and drills Oklahoma, gets on the bus, travels to San Marcos, puts on TXST unis and wipes App out.

At least that's what it looked like.

I said that's what it looked like. Cuz, face it, we haven't seen anything like this out of the Bobcats since they joined the Sun Belt. I'm glad it was all Bobcat. I want our programs to be good.

It's hard to have 3 HC, multiple OC, and many other position coach changes in a 5 year period without it affecting the roster at some point. We have 32 players from the last 3 classes playing, but only 16 from the previous 2 classes which is where the leaders of the team should come from. The 2019 year that was split by Satt and Drink is killing us. That makes sense as it had more staff turnover from top to bottom.

There just isn't a way to avoid the damage done by coaching turnover. In the past yes but times have changed. This horse race ain't waiting for ya. It's good and bad. You still rise with the boat. Just pray it's temporary and whatever mojo got you where you are comes back quick.

It was just a matter of time. Look at us...still reeling from two bad hires and way worse roster turnover than you guys. No one is immune to it.

No way y'all fall as hard as we did (Clark >>> Lunsford >>>>>> Summers), but turnover gets you everytime.

All kidding aside, AppState’s problem is the same one we’ve had all season: inability to run the football. Yes, we have some issues on defense specifically the secondary, but our lack of execution in the running attack is the single largest issue. It starts with the line, and ends with the RB’s that seem to be walking wounded since week 2. Game day coaching and adjustments are another issue, but if there is ANY hope of saving this season for AppState it’s finding the right combination of talent to create and maintain a consistent running game… by definition more than 150 yards per game.

The OL is dealing with some injuries. Shawn will never use it as an excuse and until today hasn't addressed it. Opposing coaches see what's going on stacking the box daring us to run. Given Chase's arm and the number of talented receivers we have it may be time to go full bore pass offense.

Personally I think its the schedule you guys have played this year so far.
UNC - 5-1
TAMU - 3-3
Troy - 4-2
JMU - 5-0
The Citadel - Weak FCS
TXST - Average G5

That's two quality PS5s and three bowl quality G5 teams (being a homer, but still). That's a pretty brutal schedule. Considering the way the games went, having to constantly dig into that emotional well is pretty exhausting. Really could've used a week off after the Troy game to recuperate.

I’d sign up for that if we had a mobile QB. Our OL wouldn’t be able to protect Brice slinging the ball all day. Time to give some backups some starting roles and get back to a multi dimensional offense.

We're only giving up 1.5 sacks per game on 34 pass attempts per game. If we added 10 more attempts that goes to maybe 2 sacks per game. It might be worth the tradeoff.

That's plausible but you'd think if Texas put up 600 yards against OU they surely could have put up 400 yards against Appy...

In reality this is probably what happened at the Red River...
