#8/9 NU will host LIU tomorrow night for their season opener at 7:30pm.

The game will be on ESPN+.

#8/9 NU picked up a 3-2 OT win vs. LIU in the season opener.

Soph. Braden Doyle scored his first career goal, while freshmen Cam Lund and Vinny Borgesi scored their first collegiate goals.

Goalie Devin Levi made 31 saves.

The Huskies are back on home ice next weekend for a pair against Vermont.

Great game! Just like the LIU women their goalie kept it close. We didn't play like a team with a bunch of newcomers. Just like the NU women it was another example of the rich get richer. If I didn't know better I never would have guessed that Lund, Borgesi and Dorrington were freshmen. I know it's only one Gane but to me this team is faster, bigger and deeoer. Even the fourth line contributed a lot.

You nailed it. This team is faster, bigger and deeper.

The only question mark will be the defenseman. Outside of Struble, Spott and Buechler it’s all freshmen. But talented freshmen who are NHL draft picks.

LIU packed it in in front of the net and in the zone to try to neutralize our speed. It worked, but we found a way to win.
