Ken Bishop is the most recent JUCO success. He had a couple years in the NFL.

Tim Tyrell from Harper College, Qb on our first MAC Championship team and league MVP. Ken Bishop DT and played for the Cowboys for a couple of years, I think Kill's group brought him in. Kill went after specific guys in Juco, not a lot them, but he did well with them. M. Williams Db who made a FANTASTIC play to seal the MAC title game against Buffalo. I will never forget that play. We have a had a few JCs who have been pretty good.

Not cool. Not cool at all. We just got weaker at our weakest position.
True. Remember when you lose weak players it is not as hard to replace them with another weak player. I wish Rogers would stayed, Hams has ro receuit him back. Obviouisly we have to hunt down some Dbs in the portal.
It’s very odd that our two starters at our weakest position just left. I don’t think it’s a huge loss for the exact reason you said, but something is odd there

I am going to chalk that up to issues with the coaches.
Can someone please tell whomever our next corners are that they are allowed to give less than an 8 yard cushion at the snap.
I liked rogers…his problem was he was always hurt.

Wondering if there's a defensive shake up coming, new staff over there maybe

Do you think the coaches gave the players some hard news and some reality that this was not a productive year? Would not be the first time a coach asked a player to decide if he really wants to play here and if this is the right school for you.

This is what I hope it is. The problem is it doesn’t seem like we have any depth at corner.
It’s also possible they hate their coaches though and when they found out they’ll be back they hit the portal.
I have to think we are going be very active in the portal looking at CB’s, DE’s, and WR’s.

There’s no way they don’t make changes at coach on the defensive side of the ball right? Right????

If they don’t make any coaching changes shows TH can’t handle the dirty work of a head coach/boss. Even Fitz knew their defense was bad at NU and canned a few coaches. Some fresh blood with experience at the FBS level is needed bad. I don’t think a better opportunity will come along than a staff member off of WMU.

As someone mentioned earlier, where are these guys gonna transfer that's better than NIU? It's not like they were playing lights out here....

Bad players transferring always makes me wonder that. This isn’t LSU, you guys were getting toasted in the MAC. Good luck out there guys.
Thing is, we don’t know that this isn’t a situation where Hammock said, “you need to transfer…”. So to be fair to the players we don’t know. I can’t imagine Hammock asked Rodgers to leave…that would be wild. I would ask the defensive coaches to leave first. That scheme was a mess.

MAC players who haven't played much or are not ideally sized need to be open to FCS/D2/D3, where they can still have a great experience. Mason Blakemore should consider SIU or SEMO, he would probably dominate there. Dustin Fletcher would do well to consider the D2 league in Michigan, where he's from. It's a good conference and he would likely have success there. Go to one of those schools, dominate, and play for a natty, sounds like fun. Heck, Antwain Walker is playing at North Central and they are one of the favorites to win the D3 championship. I bet he's having a great time. Most guys aren't that realistic of course.

Walker.... I was a fan of his,my memory has faded, but isn't he just as good as the guys we have or better? Seem to recall him making some plays as a true FR maybe even in the MAC title game. ... Absolutely right about certain players have to be open to moving down.
