Why? Every damned helmet they wore came with a face mask! (Warning for the hypersensitive: the previous statement was intended to be humorous.) Did the Marines quit recruiting during COVID? Did the Army or Navy? Cadets are subject to the same laws as any branch of the U.S. Military.

Ha, if the kid was smart enough to get into a service academy, he likely wasn't signing with Big State U in the first place and if he was a lineman, he was shorter and 100 lbs lighter than Big State U's norms.
