Lindenwood getting votes after having played only one FCS game in their first D1 season. Seems odd to me.

It's a good thing you get points in the rankings for who you lost to. Except for a close win over a SWAC opponent, where the SWAC is generally thought of as a relatively easy win for most programs historically SFA could easily be 0-3. The Jacks better win big Saturday, or they will be lucky to receive votes.

Wow, we got 1 vote. Until we beat people rated above us we won't get looked at. I don't think we deserve it until then. I am happy with what I am seeing this year, but we still have a way to go.

Curious how many teams people think the WAC can get into the playoffs this year?

EDIT: Also, I assume SHSU won't be a part of any of it this year due to them announcing the move to CUSA next year?

The WAC could get 0 teams in the playoffs this year. But likely will get 1.

Bearkats are ineligible for playoffs this year, but still considered FCS until next year.

RE: FCS TOP 25
I think with how good the ASUN is, it may be hard for a WAC team to make it. Is the WACSUN really going to send one from each? Even if 2 make it from the WACSUN, they could both come from the ASUN side. For sake of argument...IF ACU just completely plays lights out and wins the rest of our games, we won't have played any ASUN teams, which are rated higher than us.

That's what I had assumed. Thanks for confirming.

As for the WAC, I was kind of including the ASUN schools as well since it's 'all the same conference' (for now).

GO AGGIES!!!!

RE: FCS TOP 25
On the ASUn side, Austin Peay and Eastern Kentucky are emerging real playoff contenders. The Preseason consensus was that Kennesaw was the run away favorite, but they have stumbled badly.

On the WAC side SFA was the preseason favorite but they, too, stumbled out of the gate. They have time to recover as we move into conference play, although both Massey and Sagarin’s computers don’t show a lot of separation between SFA and ACU, Tarleton (although they aren’t playoff eligible since they are still transitioning from D2 )and Southern Utah

My overall take is the wac/Asun is likely a two bid conference, with the Auto bid most likely going to Austin Peay and at large bid to either Eastern Kentucky or whoever emerges from the WAC side.

and UIW (5-1) is #10. Too bad they're not in the WAC.

No, they said don't troll. Big difference. Good discussion is always welcome.
