The intentional safety is fine, the problem is they didn't even attempt to run plays to the boundaries on that last possession to waste time, and then proceeded to squib kick the ensuing free kick to give App the ball 15 yards from at least a FG attempt.

Though the real MVP of the game is App's clock keeper, who somehow managed to get App through 4 full plays in 15 seconds.

Womack’s seems way worse to me because it was totally unnecessary

Which is wild because our kicker has been pretty decent.

The South Alabama decision broke my heart take the points but then the Cajuns left points on the field and it cost them in the long run. Just a weird day in the Sun Belt.

Agree with all of these comments on Huff. Some of his decision making (add Guidry and Trickett to the list?), was downright awful. PLUS, and this is a big one for me, he couldn’t guide his team to overcome the big game syndrome of the prior week. None of this reaches a level of where I’m turning on Huff. I think he has potential…but it’s just that…potential. He hasn’t proven himself, yet, as a prime time coach.

I’ve said earlier, that the Troy game is going to be difficult for us, for a number of reasons. The Trojans did come to play yesterday. In some respects. This game will be a bigger test than Bowling Green and Huff’s ability to prepare. When you have this much skill, there are more demand on th coach to use his pieces wisely, and he didn’t do that, this week.

It wasn't a miracle. App practices that play where your tallest guy tips it back to the receiver and the other receiver has a blocking assignment. Obviously it's lucky that it played out as drawn up but it's not like the play had never been rehearsed. Clark said they practice that Hail Mary play two days a week and I'd guess that have since either Barbay came in or maybe going back a few years.

App was far more lucky that Troy didn't intercept either of Brice's two earlier tries to give them the ball. That's bad Brice we haven't seen yet in 2022.

My pick is Wommack. You've been moving the ball all day, you're in 4th and short, kicking a FG puts you up by a touchdown, going for it ices the game. If you go for it, f÷_#^# go for it man.

Ricky Rahne looks like he's about to have a panic attack in every ODU game I watch. Dude is a nervous wreck all game long. That said, ODU was screwed when they called DPI in the endzone which was questionable considering the entirety of the game I had watched.

Bowling Green played out of their minds as well. That'll be the best game they play all year long. That had an ESPN Top 10 play on a one handed, behind the defenders back, catch. The linebacker didn't take the running back who leaked out when a defender already accounted for the QB. Reminds me of the ECU game last year.

I don’t think it was a lack of faith and I don’t necessarily have a problem with that call but it’s ironic that we went for it there instead of taking the points and then called a pretty conservative game for the rest of the game except the two scoring drives. Our offensive play calling was entirely too predictable. Guess booting the OC 2 weeks before the season did have an impact. Overall I think the guys played well and coulda, shoulda, woulda won.

I gotta go with Kane Wommack, who is one of us at USM who we love from a great era of football a generation ago. But come on, man!

Every team practices that play. It's still a miracle when it actually works

Yeah. The Cajuns used that on us last year and made it work. Sometimes it does, sometimes it doesn't.

Sometimes coaches want to over coach, get too cute and get burnt! But if I have to pick one, I have to go with Womack. Kick the fricking FG!!!!!!
