A one one tie after rwo periods was not what I was expecting against a reletively new hockey program. When all was said and done LIU only had fourteen shots on goal to our sixty plus another twenty two LIU blocks........but it turns out that they have an absolutely terrific goalie from Europe. It seemed like most of the game was played in their end. I liked how much the freshmen contributed.

Yeah, well NU bounced back in a big way this afternoon with a 10-1 blowout win at Matthews.
Sr. Alina Mueller had a hat trick in this one.

Current NU forward Maureen Murphy, joins former Husky stars G Aerin Frankel and F Kendall Coyne-Schofield on Team USA for tonight's matchup against rivals Team Canada in the Rivalry Series.
The game is on NHL Network at 10pm.

Wednesday night, #5 NU shutout #15 BC 3-0 at Matthews Arena to advance to their 7th straight Hockey East tournament championship game.
Just 47 seconds into the game, the Huskies took a 1-0 lead on a goal from Peyton Anderson. Anderson scored again in the 2nd period and in the 3rd, Alina Mueller scored the empty netter to pass former Husky legend Kendall Coyne Schofield as the all-time program leader in scoring with her 250th career point.
NU will be hosting its third-straight Hockey East Championship Game on Saturday, March 4 at noon at Matthews Arena. The game will be on ESPNU.

For the sixth straight season, Northeastern has won the Hockey East Tournament championship, as they beat Providence 4-1 at Matthews Arena.
NU was down 1-0 in the 1st period before Patty Kazmaier Memorial Award finalist and star Alina Mueller tied the game with her 26th goal of the season.
In the 2nd period Megan Carter's goal gave #5 NU the 2-1 lead. Chloe Aurard and Taze Thompson added 3rd period power-play goals to help keep the HE title on Huntington Ave.
NU will now wait to see who they will face on the NCAA Tournament Selection Show Sunday at noon on ESPN News or ESPN+.

After winning its sixth-straight Hockey East Championship, 5th ranked NU women's hockey will be the 5th seed in the NCAA Tournament and will travel to New Haven to face the #4 seed Yale next Saturday, March 11 at 3 p.m. in Ingalls Rink.
This marks the seventh time overall Northeastern has earned a berth into the NCAA tournament, and the sixth straight appearance. NU enters the NCAA Tournament on a 21-game winning streak.
The winner of the New Haven Regional will advance to the 2023 NCAA Women's Frozen Four on March 17 and 19 at Minnesota Duluth's AMSOIL Arena.
