ACU- Tarleton, SFA
NMSU-UNM, UTEP, Utah St
Seattle- Portland (kinda), Portland St (maybe)
SFA- SHSU
Tarleton-ACU, SFA, UTA
UTA-North Texas, Texas State, SFA, Tarleton, ACU
UTRGV- two different metrics
For the posters of other schools:
CBU & GCU
GCU & SFA
NMSU & GCU
NMSU & WKU
NMSU & MTSU
Seattle & Portland or Gonzaga
SUU & Utah Tech
SUU & UVU
UTRGV & TA&M-CC
Good summary

It went away because they no longer scheduled each other in sports. Football has played a few times. I think that if the two schools were to play each other again every few years in basketball, the rivalry would be back. Plus the Arizona Bowl victory over them was so sweet. I have 5 USU grads in my immediate family. So much fun!

Gonzaga? Can you have a rivalry with a school that you haven't played since 1980?

I doubt Gonzaga considers it one, but it was included by someone whose screen name could be a Seattle fan.

I am the only Seattle fan on the CSNBBS. Gonzaga is not a rival. Only an older fan would even say such an outlandish claim.

Since 1949, Seattle is 40-11 vs Gonzaga. Not even a rivalry when they did play.

There is another Seattle poster. Hasn't posted here in a while. Their logo spins between Seattle and I think Idaho.

Sorry, was hard to determine who Pounder roots for, but using the context of the post, assumed it was Seattle.

There is a Portland-PSU game annually, naturally. This might half fill each arena.
Since football is tossed out there, just a point of contention. Portland State and Eastern Washington have the annual Dam Cup (all sports), which registers about a 2 on the PSU excitement scale, while EWU might travel half the crowd to Hillsboro in those years. Montana and, just lately, Montana State outdraw PSU fans in Hillsboro (the few PSU fans do feel insulted that Montana State will be in Providence Park this year… against Oregon State). The last time Portland State had a rivalry where Portland fans came out were when they were D-2 and they had some great games against, get a load of this, Texas A&I. Sometimes a rivalry happens due to what’s on the field. That ended when Portland State moved up, though Portland State clearly hasn’t been the same draw since Oregon emerged from the depths of mediocrity.
