After that, he took.....6 SACKS! The best OL in the WAC didn't give up those sacks. The QB looked lost and took those sacks. Every single one of them. Might as well just punt the friggin' ball on 1st down at this point. I don't give a sh*t if he was a 4-star recruit. The Force is weak with this one. Time to come to grips with the fact that he sucks! Tarleton Football does not lose 3 in a row. Especially not at this point in transition. If we lose next week, with this QB at the helm, it's time to start calling (louder) for a coaching change!

I’m not ready to give up on Allen. He has all of the tools to be a great QB, now he needs to learn how to play QB. If Whitten is the great QB Whisper, then give him an off-season to teach Allen how to play the position. Practice, practice and practice. Watch lots of tape. Work with the receivers over the summer. Let’s see if Allen has the work ethic and if Whitten can teach. Put some effort into Allen and let’s see if he is willing to put some effort into himself. If there is no improvement during the off-season, then cast him aside and move on.

BTW, there is a very similar issue going on about two hours south of the Ville with a burnt orange football team.

I'm telling you, I'm afraid the kid just doesn't have it. He shows flashes of 4-star, then buries his head like an ostrich if he makes a bad throw. He's just gotta let it rip. Much like a 3-point shooter in a slump, the worst thing he can do is stop shootin'! For whatever reason the kid gets easily rattled, and his problem is way more mental than it is physical. Whitten has a keen eye for talent, especially at the QB position, no doubt about that. But I really think the best thing Whitten could do is get out of the way and have Beu Allen spend the entire offseason training with Ben Holmes. If Ben Holmes, the most mentally tough QB I've ever seen, had half of this kid's physical gifts, he be an on his way to becoming an NFL HOF'er.

EKU deserved the auto bid. There simply weren’t any teams from the WAC that had the resumes of the two SLC teams. The conference has a long way to go.

I did see about half of the Big Sky, including our old friends from U of I. SUU seems to have made a mistake. I wonder if they will go back now that WAC may not become an FCS conference after all?

Seriously. What the hell were they thinking joining? This conference looked like a disaster from the start, even when the CHAMPS were in it!

I’m sure Southern Utah is stuck here. I doubt they will be allowed or welcomed back. Unless the BSC does it out of spite, to hurt the WAC.

Why would they want to hurt the WAC? They often complain about the lack of OOC opponents in their region. If anything I imagine they would encourage the football only schools in the BSC to move to the WAC.

Boy Wonder in case you missed the news. UTRGV has approved funding for football and the last time I checked you only needed six. So, despite your forecast of doom and gloom it appears the WAC has enough teams for a conference.

Now, that you have been informed you can go back over to CUSA and enjoy another LOSING season of NMSU football. They stack up better than the cord wood outside the cabin door.

And that is exactly something they would do, as they’ve demonstrated for many years now.

People tend to forget that we brought in a Quarterbacks Coach and Passing Game Coordinator before the 2021 season. When Ben Holmes was here, Whitten was the only one allowed to talk to the QB's. Now you have Whitten plus another person in the QB's ear. Can't help but wonder if the QB coach isn't on the same page as Whitten and it is causing Beau to struggle. It'll be interesting to see if the QB coach is still here next year cause Whitten has shown that QB's can have lots of success under him.

The QB coach is the reason Allen is at Tarleton. Coach Adam Austin was at Eastern Kentucky and tried to recruit Allen to EKU. They developed a relationship and reconnected this summer when Allen entered the portal.

You only need 6, but your 6th is 3 years away. 3 years ago, WAC football didn’t even exist. That doesn’t even take into consideration that Tarleton is begging for a CUSA invite. What happens IF they get it? Back down to “5” and that’s only if it’s 2025.

Strength in numbers? Hurt WAC basketball? Could be anything, I don’t see it happening, but what if SUU started winning more in football and continued to be a good basketball program?

Maybe they realize their error like Oral Roberts, UMKC, UConn, and others who went back to their previous conferences. Right now, the WAC probably doesn’t have to worry about it. But maybe in a few years, they’ll have to.

Breaking News: Team that redshirts most of its starters doesn’t win. Well, doesn’t win against D1 teams, that is. Your cowtown second rate agro school didn’t have a prayer, even against our backups.

You lost to Dixie State.
