That’s straight baloney. Last year, Memphis and Auburn scheduled Murray State and they’re on Saint Louis’ schedule this year. Murray State has been a solid program for what, 15 years? A loss to SHSU won’t keep Utah and Oklahoma out of the NCAAs. It will be too many other losses.

NMSU and UNM have also been solid programs. Do you think both schools just up and decided not to play Arizona or Arizona St anymore? They used to be regulars on both our schedules. You have to know we’d take two P6 teams that close to home any day.

There will be other teams that will take a chance on SHSU unless they keep doing this year after year. But I guarantee you Oklahoma won’t be one of them. They already got embarrassed once. I mean I don’t think it’s embarrassing but no one from the Big 12 would admit that Sam is simply a good team.

The Vaqs were down at the half by 6, 41-35, but came back with a huge 56 point second half and won the half by 18.

RGV shot 50%!from the field and an amazing 31/35 from the line. That has to be near a program record.

Cautiously optimistic.

Sam Houston crushes South Dakota 80-49 in the Fort Meyers Palm Division Championship. 3-point shooting was near 60% and Cameron Huefner shot 4/4 on 3 pointers and 9/11 from the field. Sam Houston had 34 rebounds to South Dakota's 24. Sam Houston improves to 6-0 and next game is on Monday November 28th against a much tougher Nevada squad currently sitting at a 26.4% chance to win.

Fun note that is obviously satire but some good exposure for the program. Barstool Sports owner and CEO Dave Portnoy tweeted that he is calling Sam Houston as the March Madness national champion early in the season. I personally am hoping that the team takes it one game at a time and pull off their next 3 wins against Nevada, Dallas Christian, and Oklahoma St (Airing on ESPNU) so we can maybe sneak into the top 25 for some representation from the WAC. It's a long shot but a Bearkat can sure hope!

Yes sir, that is one fine HC you've got down there. He has put Sam Basketball on the map! Curious, where did he learn his craft?

Finally game day for the Aggies. Don’t know much about USD this year specifically, but they haven’t been challenged much by their schedule.

Not sure how we’ll come out after a long time with no game.

Tarleton needs some 3 point shooters, we are not very good in that department and that is really hurting us.

If you beat Nevada and OK St ( and obviously Dallas Christian) you should sneak into the top 25. The WAC looks really good this year and may even have a shot at getting 2 teams in the Tourney if Sam gets in top 25 and loses WAC Tourney.

Interesting - the top scoring player in that RGV vs Texas game was some guy named Sir' Jabari Rice.

Good and needed 92-82 win against NAU despite only forcing 10 turnovers: committing 10 turnovers.

**After this week we will be back up to 5-4 only because we are playing North American and Arlington Baptist.**
