Yeah but 200 tweets per school over the next ten years gets a bit unwieldy to just see someone's schedule at a glance.

I don't think the utility of this thread will be to have a quick and concise list of all teams OOC games, I think it's just a place to talk about news that pops up that isn't really worthy of its own thread. As others have stated, FBSchedules and others already have a great database, no reason to try and replicate that.

True. Being in the 757 has its perks. Its mostly ACC, i wish we can host a couple of SEC teams as well. UMD is still being a ***** to come down and play.

regarding the underwhelming comments.....I don't care who we play right now. I just want to win games. We could have the toughest schedule in the country and play great "name brand" teams every week that everyone is going to get excited about and then go 6-6 or 5-7 every year and all we are going to do is ***** and moan go from coach to coach to coach. I would rather play less exciting "names" but have a better chance to win and actually have a chance to have a successful season. We are already playing in what I feel is the hardest G5 division in the country. As far as OOC goes, give me 1 $$ game for the budget, and three pansies that we can beat by 50 and I will be fine with it.

App hasn't had a new game announced in a year or so, other than Robert Morris this year to replace what was nonconference Marshall. Last one scheduled was the Toledo series for 2025 and 2028.

Wake Forest supposedly promised to play us in WS eeventually to make up for the one canceled in 2020 AND to schedule another home-and-home. None of those three games have been scheduled.

There's a rumor that a "red" team from NC is supposed to be scheduled at some point. I'll believe it when I say it. My NC State booster in-laws were told directly by Dave Doeren a few years ago he had zero interest in ever playing App State. Same old nothing to gain, everything to lose BS.

FWIW, Butch Jones, James Franklin and Mack Brown have all been quoted as saying the same thing. Coaches don’t make the schedules. Not to mention, half of the time the coach that was in charge when a game was scheduled isn’t still the coach when a game is played. Anyway, there are two announcements in the pipelines. I’ll leave it at that.

That is a terrible approach. You must have wins against relevant programs to be considered a success. Dumbing down the schedule to rack up phony wins is the opposite of what sports is all about. You should want to play the best so you can beat the best. Anything less is anti-competitive.

To their credit, Wake promised to make good on our end of the home-and-home that got wiped out when we sat 2020 out, and they’ll be coming to Norfolk next season.

Congrats on the WSSU game!

Marshall just added an H&H against MTSU. We have bad luck playing in the state of Tennessee, so I ain't thrilled

But as far as our "big games" we got in the future, there's H&Hs with VT, ECU, and Liberty (gag)
Boise is supposed to make up their game and come here in a few years and we're heading to Penn State

Hopefully we get more quality games scheduled to go hand in hand with the extra exposure well be getting in the SBC

There's scheduling tomato cans and there's smart scheduling.

The perfect OOC schedule for a team at our level is an FCS, a good G5, a weak G5, and a P5. Mix/match the home/away as advantageous. Preferably you'd have a split with the G5s as home/away and potentially the P5 at home some years too (except at GS because apparently that's impossible for us). That sets you up for 2-2 in OOC play if you play average, 3-1 in a good year, and a shot at 4-0 in a great year. You want to be able to look at the schedule before the season starts and have a feeling of what the results will be in those games before the season even starts. If you don't feel confident you'll be at 2-2 at minimum, there's either a problem with your scheduling or a problem with your team.

That said, SoS only means anything when you finish undefeated with peer teams, which hasn't really ever happened before. The most important thing to do is to win your games.

How many times have multiple G5 teams finished the regular season/conference title games with an undefeated record? It ain't many times.

Win. Your. Games.

To me it's actually funny we scheduled SHSU and not JSU and they are an in-state former rival.

This doesn't fit anywhere or really deserve a new thread...but this year is still "future" for SBC - three teams featured here and a conference call out at the end

Good. Even in separate conferences USM scheduling local OOC helps keep that fan base interested. Hopefully
