I don't think they fired Durham, It's difficult to do a live tv show daily & be the full time voice of the Falcons,ACCN etc not to mention commuting back & forth between the QC/ATL

Exactly. They probably wanted to move the show to the evening and Durham wants to do more live sports.

Although I can certainly see how some folks may get offended by Jims comment, I actually got a chuckle from it. I and my family have spent time tailgaiting with Jim and his fiance and his tailgaiting crew. He was so friendly and welcoming to my family
that I, a black man, would never describe him as being prejudiced.

You know I've listened to the ACC Network on SiriusXM 100s of times. I have never once heard a Syracuse Promo clip on radio breaks. I've heard UNC, Clemson, Duke and FSU numerous times.

It's the merits where I am most skeptical. There's a yawning chasm between Wes Durham and these two. And that's not even necessarily a knock on them... Wes Durham is in multiple Halls of Fame for talking about sports.

What I want is more shows like Packer and Durham for the non-live-sports content. The Huddle is .... acceptable right before or after a game. There's no equivalent of Sportscenter on ACCN.

What I want less of is shows like whatever they called their nightly news shows Kelsey Riggs hosted. It was certainly a diverse group of former ACC athletes. It was also unwatchable, and has been well documented as such on a broad bipartisan basis on this board. What I see here is Packer & Durham sliding towards the oblivion of that Kelsey Riggs hosted show.

If the ACC is about to be gone though, this makes perfect sense. A cheap as chips way to fill 6 hours a day of programming. If anything they're saving money over what it cost for Wes Durham, even with two people. If this is what treading water until liquidation looks like... so be it.

I’ve followed ACC schools for over 50 years, so Packer & Durham had a lot credibility for my demographic. But the ACCN is not going to grow their audience by putting your best asset in the morning, and only catering to older white males. Not surprised that the ACCN needs to fix its afternoon programming and diversify its anchors. It’s nothing against Packer or Durham, it’s the television industry…they need to build ratings and create new programming content.

Your line of thinking runs hard aground against SportsCenter. The more diverse and young and hip the variation of SportsCenter the worse the ratings were. They've eliminated their most young and hip and diverse variation of SC due to pitiful ratings.
