Until this stuff gets more clearly defined - I'm not getting close to it. Too much opportunity for shady stuff to occur with a lot of different groups trying to support the NIL.

I donated 25 to their link because that’s how you get the signed team poster. The account is followed by most/ all the players. I won’t be giving anything high dollar though

Are there other groups besides this one supporting UAB NIL?

I know Learfield is getting more serious about it but I'm not sure to what extent.

RE: Golf Tournament to Benefit Basketball NIL
I thought the whole idea behind the NIL was for players to be able to make money with their name, image and likeness, meaning some sort of advertisement for a product. How do these organizations kinda linked to the school get away with just giving out money??? What are they paying these players for, they don’t have a product to sell. Now if you want to have a golf tournament and pay players to hang out and shake hands all day, I’m good with that.
Every school is doing this, and at some point you’d imagine something would have to be regulated. But the NCAA is toothless and the schools and conferences have no desire to control it.

This is perfectly legal. They can be paid for appearances, speaking engagements, autographs etc. That in itself is a product.

It’s a very grey area. My understanding is what Texas Tech is doing is against the rules. With nobody to enforce anything though, it’s pretty much the Wild West.
