Post Mega Conference Big 12
Let’s assume that the SEC and Big 10 end up gobbling up 16 more schools from the Pac 10 and ACC, creating 2 24-team leagues.

The current geographic spread of the Big 12 is 1-8-3, one western team, 8 central teams, and 3 eastern teams.

The Big 12 could conceivably pick up the pieces and create a best-of-the-rest along a 8-8-8 model (San Diego St and some other lucky G5s help flush out the Big 12 West) with regional play among each of those geographic divisions.

If Kansas gets swept up, you can downsize that to 7-7-7 for a total of 21 teams. (Big 12 West=BYU+6 PAC 10, Big 12 Central=old guard, Big 12 East=Cincy, WVU, UCF+4 ACC)

After Rutgers to the B1G, anything is possible.

no indication at all that the sec and big10 want to dilute themselves like that. The sec in particular has a perfect setup right now.

And if the big12 had 21 teams, that would not be good for it. Would be even less of a conference than it is now.

If PAC and ACC you'll see the Big 12 go to 20-24. We'll take the four corners from the PAC and whoever is left from the AAC.

Don't see the B1G or SEC going beyond 20 teams, at the most, for their respective conferences, if that.

Why would the B12 want AAC leftovers?

Personally, I could do w/out GA Tech and BC, but I'd be thrilled to have the other four.

I know this is basically playing fantasy realignment football, but if we pulled the 4 corners, and then my preferred 4 from the ACC along with our current 12 - that's a pretty good conference in my opinion.

They have seem to forget about Louisville: Pitt, BC. Louisville, Duke, NC State, Virginia Tech, Georgia Tech.
