No Old Dominion? I scrolled through the time stamps for each team but didn't see the Monarchs listed! These guys are not buying Coastal's stock as being a top contender. We'll just have to prove them wrong 03-nutkick

Some good SBC talk here. Only really disagreed with them a few times. I think they're overplaying Marshall a bit and underplaying JMU and South, but overall a good podcast.

They previewed Old Dominion within the first three or four I think. I know I heard them talk about transitioning to a up tempo offense.

RE: CFB Sun Belt Conference Betting Preview | Big Bets on Campus Podcast
I think a lot of preseason prognosticators are getting Coastal and GS wrong.

Coastal was 5-7 the year before Grayson McCall took over at QB. Honestly aside from Likely I think their skill position talent was kinda pedestrian by Sun Belt standards but they made up for it with the best QB and coach in the conference. If they've upped recruiting the past few years for all we know they could actually be better. I don't know why they seem to get singled out as the team that'll drop off rather than App and Louisiana.

As for GS, honestly most people don't know **** when it comes to offensive scheme and the guys doing that podcast aren't an exception. We haven't been the veer-blocking option team with the smaller and quicker OL that blocks bigger guys by diving at their feet a la Army and Navy since 2013. We've built our run game around zone blocking just like many other FBS teams do and this past season our percentage of run plays is basically equivalent to Georgia State and UAB. We just didn't have the QB (other than a true freshman who was hurt most of the season) to make what we were trying to do work. It's one thing to question how a team that's 3-9 can compete but there's no real comparison to Georgia Tech the last 3 years even if we ignore that Tech is just as much a crap team last year as they were the first year of their offensive transition in 2019.

So you agree with them on A-State? Noted . . . :)

What an insanely strong anti Butch Jones bias. They even took time to dunk on our QB Blackman. I guess none of our additions mean anything to them. Or they didn't care to look.

Most definite. They mentioned a few things that are not accurate about the Cajuns but overall I enjoyed it.

If I hear that we’re transitioning from a triple option to the spread one more time, I’m going to have a stroke. It’s one thing to admit that you don’t care about any of the teams in the lower half of this conference, but it’s another to be just so confidently wrong when pretending to be an expert.

I mean, I wouldn't have been as brash. I wouldn't disrespect you guys like that. I think you'll be better than they anticipate, but I'd still take the under.
