Unproven, and IMO unlikely. But definitely unproven. Why is ESPN going to pay more for Big 12 content than they're paying for ACC content? Fox only has so many timeslots on FS1, and they don't have a streaming outlet. ESPN is probably the sole bidder for at least half of the Big 12 rights. Maybe the entire package.
FOX is very motivated pay the Big 12 more than ACC's old tv deal.
#1 To create more chaos for the ACC members. If FOX can motivate ACC teams to jump to the Big 10, its a win-win.
#2 FOX already has synergy with the Texas market. As much as we leave politics out of it. FOX and Red States go hand in hand. FOX execs wants the Texas Majority to tune into Fox News on weekdays and Fox Sports on weekends. Texas Fan bases with known Christian values, FOX loves those kind of viewers. Baylor and TCU will be beloved poster boys in a FOX/Big12 deal.
CBS is also without a flagship conference. CBS might be willing to pay the Big 12 more than the old ACC deal.
NBC might be interested too. Notre Dame's future might be uncertain, maybe its time to diversity.
ESPN might not be motivated, but Big 12 has multiple options.

RE: ACC: 10-yr Sweetheart and Neophyte deals
The rumor is ACC and ESPn are talking to raise the pay wage for all the schools more than the Big 12. Big 12 is FOX/ESPN. Fox wants to steal schools out of under ESPN which we have already got BYU, Houston, UCF and Cincinnati.

ESPN will not allow their teams to join FOX
The Big 12 needs to worry about more of their teams bolting.

RE: ACC: 10-yr Sweetheart and Neophyte deals
While I agree with getting along with this, let’s wait until ESPN, ACC and PAC finish working. I would expect a number of Big 12 teams would be targeted by The PAC and The ACC. If the deal gets done Big 12 teams could be looking for a significant pay increase from what a Big 12 w/o Texas or Oklahoma could command.
Negotiations must be going well or the possible Notre Dame / CBS / Big 12 agreement wouldn’t have been leaked

This is key! If Fox can sow enough discord among the ESPN leagues, things will start to unravel. If even Cincinnati and UCF are making more money than the ACC schools, it won’t just be Florida St and Clemson who want out of the GOR, but Syracuse and Pitt too.
