Every College Football Teams Most Iconic Play of All Time
https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=SKzgCeMqmXo

There are time stamps for each team in a pinned comment on the video.

Kind of surprised what they chose for Louisiana and Texas State.

Also, glad they didn't choose the final play of the Florida game for us.

I don't have to click the link to know which play YouTube thinks is App's most iconic play.

The end of that game Vs. VT gives me goosebumps every time. That was a magical night.

I'm sorry, but these clowns didn't do their homework. Although a sweet play with the very first FBS "You Got MOSSED", it's not our most iconic one.

1) Id say the pic/video of Reggie Oliver throwing a screen pass to Terry Gardner with no time left on the clock to defeat Xavier University 15-13 in Marshall's first home game since the plane crash. Check out the article.

https://247sports.com/college/marshall/A...104357569/

2) After suffering a broken leg in the first half against Akron, Byron Leftwich mounts a furious comeback, but he can't walk. Check this out.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=U-jzYMSiNHQ

3) Then there's Willie Merrick who joined the team the day of the game after his brother and starting kicker, David Merrick, was suspended right before the 1992 1-AA Championship Game. The kid had NEVER attempted a FG. He played on the soccer team. If you look hard in the video, you might be able to spot Mickey Matthews, who left to become JMU's head coach.

https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=--k0dopLKvM

4a-b) Then, all you have to do is watch the second halves of the 1999 MAC championship game and the 2001 GMAC bowl to see just how special Marshall was in the late 1990's and early 2000's.

Nasty little secret is there ain't a GS fan alive that didn't jump to the ceiling when App blocked that kick. We're all better now. Recovery took about a minute.

They picked the right play for Marshall but I’d argue the bootleg screen to beat Xavier in 1971 is the most important play in our history. Unfortunately, I’m having a hard time finding a video of it.

Respectfully disagree. That is Randy Moss' most iconic play while playing for Marshall, but not the most iconic play for the school.

Glad whoever made this is a true football fan.

“The Run” is getting up there in age but watching Adrian Peterson pick up a safety with one arm and toss him out of the way never fails to get me going.

I agree. For Louisiana, I would have chosen the three-point field goal (for the win) against San Diego State in the New Orleans Bowl.

100 yard field when Troy has the ball.
98 yard field when ua'sb has the ball.

Also, they can advance the ball when the receiver is down.

Now ask me why ua'sb can just frikkin' burn.

Completely agree. I dont think I'll ever have a moment like that again in sports, that was the first and only time I've legit cried watching a game, it was absolutely magical and amazing being in that crowd that night. It also comes from what we dealt with, not being in a bowl game in 50 years, being screwed over in 05, 06, 08, and 09 all with bowl eligible records and never getting a bowl game, then that season with that finish.

Heres the one with Jays call which is way better.

I choose the UL-Texas A&M game in 1996. Damon Mason with the pick.

That play did more to put us on the map than any of the other stuff. Football fans of all kinds noticed Marshall when Moss was here. No one outside of Marshall cares about the kick or Xavier game. But anything Moss is fascinating to a broad spectrum of people.

That was the first play that came to mind for us. Hell of a catch. Definitely the greatest I've seen live.

The hail Mary that stAte used to beat Memphis was great but kind of spooky. I bought a ticket when I got there so was surrounded by tigger fans. Here I am fell off my seat yelling like a mad man. I compose myself look around and no one else is saying a word except they are staring at me. I just grin and say Wow!. Then walking out I see cops carrying rifles watching the crowd. Spooky but Wow!

That's a good choice for JMU and one that didn't immediately come to mind for me. I was thinking the 2010 forced fumble vs VT, the 2008 punt return at Bridgeforth East, or the 2016 John Miller TD at NDSU. This one from 2004 is a great choice though, JMU football might not be anywhere near what it is without that 2004 season.

Yea I see what you mean. What would you go with?

I’d consider these.
