Pretty good looking schedule. Princeton return game and ... Penn!

Penn at home too and not the Palestra? That is pretty shocking.

That's a pretty exciting schedule. Having Penn early in the season should generate a lot of fan interest, hopefully a good start can set the tone for the year.

yeah...i'm a big fan of the schedule. 3 big 5 games and the other home games can generate some local interest like lafayette and princeton.

i wouldn't mind taking the whole trip down to nc for the nc a&t and elon games. probably just go to elon like we did last year since i don't want to take that much time off work. lots of cool nascar related things to see and we found a bbq place about 40 minutes away from elon that serves a family sized banana split.

w&m and hampton for the women would be a good trip to hampton roads too. haven't been down there in a while with odu leaving. they got penn state at home which is really cool.

excited for the season. hopefully these games happen for the most part. we'll probably see covid pick up again as we hit the holidays.

I didn't think about it but having Penn on a Tuesday night at the DAC during school is huge. The last two Penn games at the DAC were after Christmas and were attendance busts. I remember the 10AM game on ESPN against Penn and the atmosphere was fantastic. I would expect an advance sellout for that game, assuming that Penn's fans aren't afraid to venture a few blocks north out of their safe zone.

Princeton at the DAC should be fun as well.....I'm still a bit bitter from how that game at Jadwin ended last season so this might be a chance for some revenge.

One thing I noticed is that the men's and women's schedules don't match up this year like in years past, so no doubleheaders. For somebody like me who watches both teams, I enjoyed the twin bills making one trip down to the DAC for two games.

i had trouble getting down for them but i thought doubleheaders were good too. i'm wondering if the schedule might shift around a bit depending on tv. maybe that will create some doubleheader chances. i hope it stays fairly consistent for the men though with thursday/saturday.

That 10am game was nuts. I do hope we can market the team and build early excitement and get that nice atmosphere and that some early losses dont kill any hopes for strong attendances. With how lackluster things have been for far too long, I do wonder if Penn even moves the needle for student interest any more.

I will never understand a D2/D3 school being added. Unless they just want a stat boosting game. You can get other tiny D1 schools i.e Rider

I don't either, but I guess they work like buy games in football. You give a D2/D3 program a chunk of change to help their program, and in return the D1 team gets a nice easy win and a chance to play some reserves. I'm not a huge fan either, but at least it's usually a local program.

Rider is on par with Drexel and for all we know, might be better than Drexel. But it is a game that should be played more frequently that they do based on geography.

I guess if you play a really lower D-1 level school like Coppin State or Delaware State (who I believe is on our schedule) for example it can lower your ranking even if you win. The D2/D3 games have no bearing on rankings, but count as wins on the schedule so it makes the school and the coaches records look better than it really is. As much as we complain about these games, even mm school plays them. Drexel does 1/year while many school pay 2-3 per year. It just is what it is these days.

I saw UNCW has two on their regular season schedule, plus another in an exhibition. Does seem pretty common these days.

I know a thread has not been created yet for '23-'24 but Huggins is out at WVU (whom we travel to)

Exactly!! I've seen too many decades of Drexel bball. No such thing as an "easy win"!
