RE: Former NIU Coaches in Head Coaching Roles

It’s a pretty impressive list. Two are no longer head coaches but are still in football. One is retired. Below are the teams with whom they are or were the head coach and their W-L records listed in order of most wins to least. Did I miss anyone?

1. PJ Fleck > Western Michigan 30-22 > Minnesota 35-23
2. Dave Doeren > NC State 64-49
3. Pat Narduzzi > Pitt 53-37
4. Tom Matukewicz > SE Missouri State 41-49
5. Jerry Kill > Minnesota 29-29 > TCU 2-2 > New Mexico State 0-0
6. Scott Schafer > Syracuse 14-23 (Now DC with Middle Tennessee)
7. Rod Carey > Temple 12-20 (Now quality and control coach with Indiana)
8. Sam Pittman > 12-11
9. Tracy Claeys > 11-8 (Retired)
10. Brandon Staley > LA Chargers 9-8
11. Matt Canada > Maryland 5-7 (Now OC with the Pittsburgh Steelers)
12. Mike Uremovich > Butler 0-0

I forgot about Matt Canada, who had a short-lived stint as head coach of University of Maryland. He's also part of the Joe Novak cradle of coaches. I'll update that list from an earlier post.
