This will be a very interesting question.

One thing which IS good is that we have an affiliation with St. Joes Mercy Hospital. He would have access to some of the best health care in the country. UofM is nearby and Cleveland Clinic is what 150 miles away.

I'm thinking back to Hank Gathers and what we learned from his death and what we know today in terms of heart screening.

AND... The title of this thread is TWO remaining scholarships... Do we agree that Luka is staying and we have ONE after Emoni's????

Again I stress that that was through the grapveine lol. (Someone told me their brother was at an EMU basketball camp when Bates was announced and everyone was talking about it).

Also think he had some off court issues. And would he be medically cleared of course.

Last Two Basketball Scholarships…What Do We Do? Suggestions Thread! (Not Bates)

If this kid is cleared to play it would be a solid addition to the EMU team. We would essentially have a P5 team.

Besides the medical concern there's also a recent legal issue in his life.

The title of the thread is 2 scholarships ONLY because Bovine created this before Emoni committed. We are clearly down to 1- but still talking about who that could be on this thread.

Oh that is good- likely an infection rather than a chronic issue. (Good for him and his life/well-being… but also for optics of EMU actually playing him).

This is a little more informative of a story on the allegations…
https://www.si.com/.amp/college/2022/03/...al-battery

I think Keynotae Johnson clearly did not act honorably in this situation- but I don’t think he will be convicted of anything. Basically he is being accused of sexual assault because he had sex with someone who was too intoxicated to be able to provide meaningful consent. This is indeed sexual assault legally speaking, but would be hard to convict on under normal circumstances. Under these specific circumstances, since they had prior relations nothing will come of this legally. More a question of character/conduct than a legal one.

Yep. It is always wise to read the story and not just the headline.

This is much, much different than what Miles Bridges is accused. That is serious s*it.

There’s two sides to every story, including this one. Not good to see posters commenting on recruits when they don’t know the whole story. Both men and woman who are intimate together, sometimes get drunk, have sex, and and it takes awhile for one to remember what occurred. I remember hearing of a case where the woman was lovey-covey, had sex and told guy how much she loved him, and next day said she remembered nothing. She had blacked out and guy had no clue. She said that occurred before with other people. It’s my impression that the case has been closed. Posters here should drop it.

Yes, one after Emoni. Luka is still on our roster. If he were leaving he’d already be gone right?

I updated the thread title to reflect our current reality — We got Emoni!

I still think Tillman is the best available, given our needs. Shrug.

Are you sure the NCAA will give him a 6th year?

I didn't see a medical redshirt year.

Agree Miggy - we’re only speculating and the police did it file charges based on two sides of the story.

We should drop it for now.

I suggest that Ramy, EMU 79, and other posters delete their posts regarding Johnson’s personal like. I will as well.

Johnson and Tillman play about the same number of minutes per game. Johnson averaged 16 ppg, Tillman 6 ppg. Johnson far better rebounder.
John has good shot at NBA, Tillman doesn’t. Best to let Heath do his job.
