Question for Troy Football Fans
I'm planning on going to the Troy-Marshall game on Sept 24 for our first SBC Game. It's about a 5.5 hour trip for me from Tampa, so wonder where is best play to stay and good places to eat? Want to get my reservations in early. Looking forward to the trip.

Atlanta Trojan gave me some very nice recommendations several years ago despite the fact he had never actually eaten there...

Top 3 Best Hotels:
Marriott Courtyard
Hampton Inn by Hilton
Best Western
*There are also some neat VRBO/Airbnb spots near downtown. One is a converted car repair garage made into a small studio w/ kitchen.

Best places to eat:

Mossy Grove Restaurant
Sister's Restaurant
Moma Goldberg's
Flo's Kitchen
B. Graves (more upscale)
Half Shell Oyster Bar & Grill
Hook's BBQ
Preston's
Sips Beer Garden & Food Court

If those hotels aren’t available (because Troy doesn’t many), you could stay in Dothan.

Sister’s I would recommend for some good southern food. Momma Goldbergs is a sandwich place built in college towns in Alabama and wouldn’t make it on any recommendation list of mine.

It's also overpriced for what you get.

There's a few hotels in Ozark, AL too, a bit closer than Dothan

Check out the Old Barn in Goshen. It’s not far from Troy. Sips is probably the best thing in town, but it will be extremely busy. Worth the wait though.

Feel free to stop by our tailgate on game day. We are located right across from the entrance you will go in, closest to your seats.
