So what's the hold up here? The Marshall baseball Twitter account has new stadium renderings as their header photo. Thought that was interesting. Did they just announce the master plans kinda like what Charlotte just did with the football stadium expansion? Or do they already have contracts and such?

It's been a multi layer problem. We've seen renderings for a while

They've changed locations, grounds been contaminated, there's been hold offs in money....there's a long list of excuses

As a Big Green Member and a baseball fan, I just want the thing built. Ita something we need, especially if we're trying to raise our profile.
A home field will boost engagement exponentially

I hope Marshall can make a way to get one built soon. No D1 athlete should be playing at a local YMCA, unless for temporary displacement or something. I have to believe, most of those guys were recruited on the belief that a new stadium was coming soon. The renderings look really nice.

You are right, I'm sure the SBC has already urged Marshall to make it a priority, if it wasn't already. I'm sure the league doesn't want games potentially postponed due to darkness. Weather is one thing.

App just released its volleyball schedule, and that's a new format. It's back to back matches versus the same opponent at the same site for eight weekends for 16 matches. App plays everyone in the east and then ULM away and Louisiana at home from the west.

Or we can keep bussing the boys to Charleston for a quality stadium! *stupid smirk*

Goal was to save travel. That's why all 14 Volleyball teams will be in the tournament.

RE: SBC Releases Spring Meetings Update
That’s not the place for the field. Very short sighted.

Build it properly. Make it look the part. And easy To park and get to.

I’ll go and take the kids. And I’ve been to exactly 0 Marshall home baseball games.
But have seen them play away before. That should tell you all you need to know.

As an aside I’ve disc golfed up there for 15 years. Several years back is the first time I’ve felt unsafe.
We always played the course the regular way before they switched the hole numbers around.

One time when playing through old #18 and heading through the back parking lot, and through to old #1 tee, I walked right past 2 people shooting up in their car. I’d not seen it up there before. Not ever. And I’ve played that course hundreds of times. It’s sad.
