New safeties coach
From Chris Vannini of The Athletic: "Taver Johnson has joined the Eastern Michigan staff as safeties coach/defensive pass game coordinator.

He fills the spot left by Fred Reed, who tragically died earlier this month.

Johnson spent the past three years with the Raiders and has worked at several P5 schools."

Indeed and what it shows. A position comes open at an unexpected time so the pool of available candidates is different than one would expect say 5 or 6 months ago.

Valid concern for sure! Quickly browsing this history, however, I'm pretty sure I see at least three situations where the head coach change may have prompted his location change.

Good observation.

There is kind of a rule in coaching: If the head coach loses his job you do too.

TONS of coaches have resumes like this in terms of job frequency

we're a little lucky that CC runs such a stable ship
