Evan Miyakawa, a guy who most if not all coaches follow, has us at 9. He's a good follow on twitter especially for people into analytics. Also, the fact that he has Gaines as a 5 star transfer makes me a little bias towards his rankings...

This only measures incoming, so LSU is number 6, even though everyone from last year's team left. They would not be there if departing talent was subtracted.

Number 38 incoming transfer class, keeping the core of an NCAA team (other than two who graduated) is a very, very good place to be.

Our incoming class is better than that.

That website was still showing Elijah Tate and Josh LeBlanc. It also had LeBlanc rated as a 4-star, and literally the only thing he could do was dunk from 2 feet away and be athletic. He was even more offensively challenged than Jemison.

It shows LeBlanc and Tate because they were or is still currently in the portal. It shows LeBlanc's new team and I assume Tate has not found a team. Those two don't affect the ranking. It's the ranking for the six players coming to UAB.
