Red Sox stretched him out to work in the rotation. Pitched against Atlanta Monday. Doing fairly well. Skip Caray said "Garret is an Alabama boy!" Then a few pitches later said "Garret played at the University of Alabama Birmingham...he's a Blazer'

It's really a shame that the Yankees left him available for the Sox to claim, especially with how their pitching struggled last season. Now he has to suffer being one of the few bright spots on the 2nd worst team in the AL.

Yeah, but he was a smart Rule 5 pick. Especially with the Sox pitching be so depleted. He's near his ceiling which is probably a bit more than a replacement player.

Extremely smart. Cashman really messed up leaving him vulnerable.
