To the CFL he goes. He would have gotten drafted if he stayed a Huskie in my opinion. Good luck Kramer 03-lmfao https://twitter.com/redblacks/status/152...2L-jZg4RVQ

If you had the choice are going CFL, USFL or XFL?

I may go USFL because of the cities they’ve chosen

They don’t even play in those cities. ALL regular season games are played in Birmingham.

I knew that. What I just learned is they all live in Birmingham. But in hindsight I see that makes sense. Saves a ton of money. I guess Id have to start liking hockey and molsen.

It only makes sense so when the league folds and stops playing they aren't flying players from all around the country home.....Birmingham is in the middle of the map so they can disperse them from there.

Whether the league stays operating will be interesting. They’ve done some unique things to save money and then secured a 3 yr tv deal with fox n nbc. If they’re profitable after 3 years I imagine they’ll start finding more home cities

BDB--always appreciate your insights. Why do you feel Kramer would have gotten drafted if he'd stayed at NIU?

He was good, Jack Heflin was better. But none were Ken Bishop good. And he was a 7th round drafted.

I’m putting Heflin right there with Bishop. Bishop was on the best teams in NIU history. That helps a lot. Especially an offense spotting you a 30pt lead. Heflin had 1 year with smith and one without. He may have been better in the year without.

Agree they were all good, but of the three I'd say the least draft-worthy was Kramer. Rarely saw him as a difference-maker on the field--just solid. Not sure staying at NIU would have helped his draft cause any, because he sure didn't tear up the MAC before heading to IU. Just found BDB's comment interesting.

He graded well and wanted better competition to show to scouts that he could play with the big boys. I felt that had stock would have risen had he not jumped ship. If he was as good as he thought he was, that talent would have got him drafted as a Huskie.

We'll never know, but you might be right. One thing I'm fairly certain about--if he'd stayed, his motor, skills and senior leadership would have made the D better overall and definitely helped a very young D-line mature more quickly.

It worked out for everyone. He got his wish granted and a chance to play on a higher level. We got a chance to develop some young dudes who may even turn out better than he was. We are Mac champs and our future is incredibly bright.
