i got lucky and put it on with a minute left. they called some sort of penalty in overtime on towson...then their player got a green card (?) which gave us some sort of penalty shot. clearly i don't understand women's lacrosse. there was some confusion after we won since the celebration didn't start right away.

i've said before...it's unfortunately how different women's lacrosse is. let them strap up the pads and beat each other up like the men.

anyway...it's nice to see us got at least one title to hang our hat on. it would've been really hard to match what was accomplished last year...but i felt like men's lacrosse, softball, and of course basketball didn't really carry the momentum from last year.

Congrats to the women. They were up pretty big early and Towson continued to chip away. Glad we still got the win. Towson has owned us in women's lax. First title though. We face Stony Brook next

Stony Brook is the 8 seed and have had a good season (as usual). Game is Noon on Saturday at Stony Brook

SBu has played a tough schedule and appear to have been given a relatively poor seed relative to how they have played. They have a loss to Syracuse (5 seed), loss to Northwestern (4 seed), wins over Tournament teams Florida (7 seed), Hopkins, Vermont and Princeton.

In common opponents: We lost to Hopkins they won easily, both beat Albany (They beat them much worse), we lost to Florida where they won, Both beat Hofstra though we won by quite a bit more the first time (CAA tournament was much closer), both beat Dartmouth SBU won by more

It will be a very tough game, one that I hope we don't get blown out in. But it will be a good matchup to prepare for with Stony Brook moving to the CAA. Stony Brook has a really solid defense and our offense has shown flashes of stalling out. I could easily see us staying in single digit goals in this one.

This is on ESPN+ I believe for those wanting to watch. Down 4-2 end of 1 and it is now 6-2 deficit in 2nd quarter

Now 7-2. Really need to start finding offense against their stout defense. 5 feels like too much to overcome against this team

Down 11-4 at end of 3rd.

We got shut out in the 2nd half and lost 16-4. Stony Brook followed up with an 11-7 win over Rutgers. JMU beat UConn on Friday then got smoked by 6 seeded Loyola (Md). Final 8 teams are all chalk.

All chalk final four. Should be a dandy of a final four.

Stony Brook proved their defense was legit as they fell to the clear top team, UNC, 8-5. Very respectable game by them.

actually watched some of the game last night. seemed like a game where one goal was like 10.

the men's matchups this weekend look good. i probably won't..but sitting on the couch watching lacrosse the next 2 afternoons wouldn't be the worst thing.

it's been a nice year for ud athletics. not sure what else they've won...but men's/women's basketball titles and a run in lacrosse is a great year by itself. i remember somebody else doing that recently.
