If the aac wanted to add early, they could. They could have added someone to replace UConn before any of the other moves were made. They don’t want to, and especially now, they don’t want to because they don’t want to give a head start to one new program over the others.

I agree with you that UAB is late to the party getting into the AAC but like the others have said that's their call to invite us early, not UAB call.

Dies? Seriously? I understand your propensity to view all things negatively (seriously remind me of Randy Quaid's character in Major League 2) but the AAC will be much better than what is left of CUSA. Do you think we should have held out for an SEC invite?

The AAC took teams in ‘13 and then in ‘14. It’s reasonable to ask would the league to take what’s perceived to be the most ready program in, a year early.
So, y’all can be a realist in that, no, they won’t take us early, but I can’t be a realist in what I expect the league to be. I was happy to be joining that league solely for leadership purposes and now the leader is stepping down.
All it truly feels like is getting out one mud hole and instantly getting stuck another.

Army is not in the AAC
As pointed out, you've made multiple statements that are factually incorrect. Are UAB, UTSA, and FAU not good football teams? What about SMU? No, this isn't the ideal version of the AAC we hoped to be in but it is better in terms of quality, exposure, money, and leadership.

I don’t see whatever success UTSA is having as being sustained when Traylor gets hired away by another Texas school just like Sonny Dykes just did. Taggart will run FAU into the ground. SMU, not sustainable. Unsupportive football base.
We get the smallest piece of the pie from ESPN. Going to what we thought would be the best G5 league. but is now likely 3rd or 4th best behind MWC and Sunbelt football. ESPN plus will be our home for everything.
And if you don’t think that ESPN renegotiates the AAC deal……..
You're correct. But it is what it is like I was told when all of this went down last year.

...but this new mud hole yields about $3 million per season more to get stuck in...
I was just rereading some tales of Winnie the Pooh when I realized Eyore shouldn’t have been so dang happy. Recruiting sucked, the team sucked, the conference sucked, life sucked. But at less there was Pooh.com for him to be all cheery on… lol

I thought it was going to start off closer to 2 mil then increase yearly? Nevertheless whether it's 3 mil or 7 mil we'll be better off financially but still considerably behind the curve of where we need to be
