RE: Houston, Cincinnati, UCF planning to join Big 12 for 23-24 academic year

Also, TX and OU might not feel good going on the road to UCF, Houston, or Cincinnati, either... I think TX and OU join the SEC for 2023-24.
Wasn’t Texas the home opener for the bounce house when it was completed?

Yup but I don't think Texas actually believed UCF would challenge them in that game and plus it was good for the Longhorns to play in Orlando for recruiting purposes. No way in hell they would go back to Orlando to play UCF willingly.

Ultimately if UT and OU have to spend a season with the new Big XII members, it won’t do anything to hurt their brand. If being mediocre for the last 15 years hasn’t damaged UT’s brand, a couple games with UCF and BYU isn’t going to do it.

It definitely will not hurt their brand but at the same time they don't want to enter the SEC with losses to the newbies of the Big XII either. That's purely a ego thing, Texas don't think UCF, Houston, or UC is worthy to even be on the same field with them even though all three have been head and shoulders better than the Longhorns for at least the last 8 to 10 years.

Unless maybe they lose to them.

In the grand scheme of things, TX and OK losing to any of the newcomers isn’t going to hurt their brand. They just don’t want to pay the early exit fee. I get they can afford it, but why pay if you don’t have to?
