Emoni has as much upside as any EMU recruit not named 'George Gervin.'

Did we win the MAC? Did we go to the NCAA? No? So what?

BTW, for those of you who are on Twitter. Tony Paul is all over this story.
Possibility of games with MSU or UofM or both.

I get what you're saying. The talent level is huge but until you win you haven't won anything.

I don't know. I want to know if he can beat Gervin's PPG:
"He transferred to Eastern Michigan University in Ypsilanti, Michigan and averaged 29.5 points as a sophomore forward in 1971–72.[7]"
I say no, but Luckeyone might say "yes."

I love Luckey’s analysis, but his rumor posts are the worst on this board:
* Emoni headed to Louisville-> Wrong
* Mo Njie signing with Penn St-> Wrong
* Emoni was doing his work outs at EMU-> Wrong
Don’t believe his rumor posts.

Last great savior was RAY SCOTT almost 50 years ago.
Ray Scott was something but not a savior.
That's true. He was the hoped for messiah of EMU hoops. Wasn't he. It was Ben Braun a decade later.
Rays recruiting class eligibility could be measured in days. He did get Tim Bracey who was a solid player. Horrible teams.
Ray was a much heralded but horrible hire! Great guy, but not clearly did not grasp the importance of NCAA recruiting and subsequently did not expend much effort in doing so. NBA and NCAA coaches deploy different skill sets. John Calipari sucks at actual coaching, but he can get the horses to come and play for him in Kentucky. In the NBA, however, he crashed and burned. Ray Scott was just the reverse case.

Bill Weaver out of Niles who I watched in high school was EMUs best player.

Does Emoni want to play close to home or not? If so, UofM and EMU certainly meet that criterion.
Other than EMU and UofM both local schools I don't see any real pattern. I see schools coast to coast. Many, but not all, had very successful seasons in 2021/22. I see urban schools in big cities (e.g., Seton Hall, G'town, DePaul, Butler, etc.). I see cities which are basically university towns.
Past success. Kansas is the 2022 NC. G'town's Patrick Ewing is lucky to have a job. (fmr EMU Lee Reed is the GU AD)
I still think that one consideration is does Emoni want a reset. Maybe get closer to home, reset his life. Be near family and friends. Try to enjoy the upcoming academic and athletic year. It can be tough to go through a lot of pressure living in a city where one knows no one (Memphis).
Surprised not to see MSU on the list. MSU is close to home and Izzo is a veteran coach who knows how to handle all kind of player situations.
I like this post. The poster was dead on.

Super, super, super...
Emoni is a legend in Ypsilanti and the GG Center. He has family and friends. Doesn't need GPS to find the GG Center or have trouble find the locker rooms.
Why would he go to BG? Makes no fricking sense.
P.S. As someone, somewhere posted think Vannesse that the GG Center is the best arena in the MAC.

From my May 3 post:
What Emoni does at EMU is that overnight he transforms a program and a community.
He doesn't do that at any other school on his list.
Also my May 3 post
I am a skeptic by profession and my crystal ball has been foggy this basketball recruiting season but my gut instinct tells me Bates to EMU is likely to happen. Why? You get to move the mountain not be on the peak of the mountain watching the scenery.

I don't need a poll or GPS to know that EMU is closer to Emoni's home than BG.
Okay, I'll pivot to tell a story. I digress. My ex-wife could have gone to WMU, which was fairly close, but she chose CMU. I think, never asked, never verified, but I think she didn't want to be TOO close to her parents. Like we're coming at 11 for Saturday brunch. (the difference was a one hour vs. three hour drive).
I doubt Emoni wanted to be away from Ypsilanti.
