Our guys go D2. P5 guys go to mid majors. He was a transfer from SFlorida if I recall from paper. Probably signed for depth

Rockets need a 6'9" guy that can really run the floor. Last guy down on Offense or Defense isn't going to cut it. Rockets have been very slow in the past, now UT needs
to get up the floor quickly before opponents can set up.
Rebound and go.

Being able to keep up is definitely a concern. 6'10 or higher I'd go. Two of them can keep rested. Still hope Carcoana isn't a done deal.

So if Carcoana changes his mind, would TK welcome him back to the team ?

A 6-7 guy who is and strong and can run is my preference. Our uptempo style this year worked. We shouldn’t change it, just add some post muscle to move opponents off the block

RE: MBB Transfer Portal
My vote is with the taller, quicker and can keep up crowd, if talking post and I have one piece to pick. Team needs at least two on roster, generally three.

6'7" muscle I don't think to do much more than Moss can do in the paint and generally a lot less elsewhere. Nice piece to the puzzle but if only having one piece to pick and I'm looking for a post, wrong piece IMO. Of course there I'm presuming equal team and basketball knowledge.

It's the reach I'd want. The body seals the D player, opening lanes. There is still 200+, tall and quick that can do that too just not as long as muscle if the refs aren't active. Those arms close passing lanes and get to the RB quicker. I'd take a shorty pg or shooter but in front court D, I want arms, speed and height for a mid-major. Muscle if that comes with the other.

These days, long tall sallies can handle the ball, they can one-on-one, they can create shots. I don't know his top-end but with his back to the basket, Carcoana has pretty good skills in that area.

Not if he was asked to leave like Arnor and J T. And that is the likely scenario

We can sign good MAC level players. Who we want should realistically be based on recent good MAC bigs. My rough memory of that is guys like Nick Perkins UB 6-7 225 (not real athletic but physical and could bang and shoot a bit), Mccrae UB 6-10 190 (skinny but could shoot and block shots), Carter OU 6-8 210, BVP OU 6-8 225 (slow but can shoot), Teague BSU 6-8 215 (slow but crafty), Thompson EMU 6-10 220 (athletic but not very skilled and a hothead), Freeman Akron 6-7 200 (thin but long and physical).

TK wants big guys with skill and good hands. He has never recruited bigs outside of that profile. He is fine with less athletic bigs if they have skills, or undersized bigs with skills. As he said he sees Simmons as becoming a Perkins type of player.

As we've seen from the portal rumors he's already reached out to muscular 6-6 type guys. So, I think there is a feeling that getting a ready to go 6-10 guy is unlikely, but if we can get a ready to go 6-6 guy who has the strength to move people around in the paint, then that'll do.

Comparing someone like that to Moss is incongruent. Moss is a physical guard about 6-3 205. A 6-6 225 vet would be helpful. If we had someone like that vs Akron we probably win that tournament game.

Yeah if he transferred here, the kid would be lucky to get 4 minutes of PT.

Anyone with insight on where Zeb Jackson is going? I have heard rumors that UT is under consideration but have no idea if there is any truth to this.

Reports on twitter that he visited Butler a couple weeks back, and is scheduled to visit VCU.
