Glenville is now 34-1. Their only loss was to the University of Charleston in the MEC Championship game 80-77. They avged 96 points on the season and have scored 100 points 12 times this season. Their season high was 141 points against Wheeling University on Jan 5th.

The bad thing is Mike Carrey just retired at WVU after 21 years and Kim Stephens Glenville's coach will most likely be his replacement.

Their style of play is awesome. It's like the best of Hillbilly Ball meets Press Virginia.

I think we have like 10 of them. Some are better at certain sports. They all seem to have a specialty.

Close, 13 of them. Ten in the MEC, one in the PSAC, and two Independent. Yeah a WV school seems to be in the championship hunt in almost every sport.

We actually have to many to be honest. A state with the population of 1.7 million doesn't need 2 DI Schools, 13 DII schools, 1 DIII school and 7 Community Colleges. Plus a Bible College and an Orthopedic College.

Four or Five could merge together and we would be better off. There are a few with less than 300 enrollment.

WHO GIVES A CRAP???? Not the point. I went to Wheeling JESUIT COLLEGE. I suppose you'd take exception to that too?

Didn't mean anything with the statement. Arkansas has 53 various types of 2-year and 4-year schools, only about 30 have athletics. I know why Jesuit is no longer part of your alma mater's name. I am glad that it made it through the difficulties and hopefully continues to grow and thrive. Polytechnic is still used when talking about Arkansas Tech and our name was changed in 1976.

Fair enough. So, why was "Jesiut" dropped?

RE: Congrats to the Glenville State Lady Pioneers
Bluefield and Concord are only a few miles apart. Definitely redundant. Would be nice to have all of them easily transferred to MU credits. Standardize the curricula. Then local kids could go there a year or two and make sure college is right for them and some could finish up at MU or hit grad school here. Not exactly junior colleges but starter colleges that feed the bigger universities. Money is tight here. Something will have to give eventually.
