Trey is clearly about 70 percent at best so we need to stop passing him the ball 12 feet from the basket. He’s not doing anything with it except bad things from there. Go work down low and stay there.

We gotta run Jelly off more screens. Middle did the same thing Houston did for about 25 minutes. Then he went off for 27 points in about 15 minutes. Just keep working.

I think we should let Jelly bring it up but then hand to Ertel and let Jelly run around. His best shot is catch off the double screen. Also, Houston is really overplaying that, so cut it back opposite a time or two and you will get Jelly a good look too.

Jelly is killing us offensively. He is missing the open shots and forcing everything else, making terrible turnovers.

Not the start we needed. I just don't think Jelly has it tonight and with no Quan either we just don't have what it takes to beat this team. I hate that for the team and for Jelly. I know he wanted to show out tonight after all the hype. Maybe he still will.

When you have to stop play because a player is bleeding yet didn't call a foul on the play where he got the cut...

So far we are losing the areas we needed to be competitive or winning in:

— rebounding (UH isn’t just getting offensive boards but scoring off them)
— 3 point shooting (they are above average and we are below average)
— turnovers and points off turnovers (non factor)

Put that with a subpar game thus far by our star and we are actually in better position than we should be

Just stopping by to say this UAB team is really good. No way this is a 12 seed.

Jelly has missed 8 shots, the rest of our team has missed 7. If he does not start hitting shots or letting other people shoot more we are in trouble.

Still plenty of time left. Some positives are our big men aren't in foul trouble and we're rebounding well.

So far this game looks a lot like UH’s game with Memphis last week (but higher pace and scoring). Every time memphis made a run, UH answered.
