He could be going to grad school at East Central. We've got better versions all their MS degrees here. Oh wait, they've got an MS in Water Resource Management and we don't. Yeah, that's it.

I took the time to look at all the UTRGV basketball statistics I could find on the web site and from what I saw he was listed as a sophomore for last years statistics. He showed on the 2019-20 statistics so that would indicate at least three years at UTRGV. Last years stats also indicated he averaged a little over twenty minutes per game so I would say his reason to transfer is personal and assuming the transfer rules for basketball are similar to what they were a few years ago for football there is no potential sit out penalty to transfer to a lower division. If he graduated in three years great for him, if it took four years as I did not look for the 18-19 stats since he was listed as a freshman in 19-20 great for him in earning a degree and best of luck to him.

Keep in mind, Quinton Johnson was one of Lew Hill's recruits, he might have given Matt Figger a chance but after last season, he probably decided he needed a change of venue.

The players that should be concerning for UTRGV fans are the ones Figger recruited last season and have now transferred... for various reasons.

If Figger has wholesale transfers again after this upcoming season, it will become apparent that he is most likely not the guy who can build a winning program at UTRGV.

On the bright side we lost everyone from a last place team.
