From my simple perspective--he was just wasn't very good on the set (leanings aside). His analysis wasn't sharp and since he was pretty much thrown into this, he looked the part of a dude who probably needed some experience going lower level tv to get used to the process.

And he looked pretty silly in his wardrobe.

I don't really care much about his politics. It's just like they picked from the bottom of the barrel to get him. Plenty of former college coaches or others that would offer better analysis.
